Iâm not sure if yâall are aware,
but TheForceIsStrongWithThisOne is writing actively again on FF.net.
I actively recommend his work! This guyâs a BBRae veteran.
^___^ Years ago, he coined the phrase âchromatically challenged coupleâ to describe our favorite duo, and heâs a big inspiration for me!
If youâve never checked out his work before, prepare to get lost. Heâs got 40+ stories on FF.net - many of which are multi-chap. Good luck!
friendliest reminder that if you ever want me to see something, tag it #chromaticallychallenged!
I track the tag :)
please lemme see ur bbrae/teen titans/whatever-kind-of-nerdy fanart or fanfics or graphics đ
When you ship The OTP so hard, you chromatically challenge your entire head. đđđ BBRae all day. (Literally, though.)
Now that Iâve made an account for my own creative nonsense, I wanted to go back and reblog the fanfiction Iâve requested on anon and give the authors the praise they deserve, so yeah. Expect some now and then some in the future. Xaphrin is someone Iâve followed for a while on fanfiction.net, probably a couple years now, if not more. Her tumblr is even better than her ff account and that was hard to top. Finding her on tumblr also allowed me to discover writers like BleedingWriter, MegWritesFanfiction, and ChromaticallyChallenged. All these writer's stories make me so happy and keep me entertained. So yeah, here's some blurbs. The tagged writers inspire me in my own writing, even if I havenât done any Teen Titan fan fiction quite yet. Anyway, theyâre all wonderful so yeah. Xaphrin's a multishipper and a talented one at that. I totally respect and admire what she can do within the fandom. Despite finding her for BBRae fanfictions when I strictly shipped them, any couple she writes makes for great stories and/or great smut. I may not ship everything she does, but I'm always looking forward to her stories no matter what couples are involved. Bleedingwriter next. Xaphrin and Bleedingwriter are partners in crime. I can't even imagine how much fun they must have writing together, even if it keeps their writers on the edge of their seats every time they update. They have several stories they are collaborating on and they are all so good. Sometimes I'm wary of stories authored by multiple people, but Bleedingwriter is so talented with her writing and her passion for RaeX and the storylines these two come up with translates through her writing. So yeah. Megwritesfanfiction isn't someone I am overly familiar with, but I think she is lovely. She also has me shipping JeriRae so hard. I can't wait for her to update her flower-themed drabble collection. On top of that, I sent her some asks about where she finds inspiration and she was so happy. Once I write something I'm confident about, it will be dedicated to her, for sure. ChromaticallyChallenged recently wrote a JeriRae drabble I requested and it had me so happy. I'll elaborate more shortly, but I was so happy that she took my request, even if she wasn't overly familiar with the ship. Any writer that steps out of their comfort zone and blows away a shipper is so talented. I also love what she reblogs and it's nice to see her on my dash. So yeah, check these writers out if you see this~ I don't have many followers as of now, but the tags should help. I hope none of you mind me doing this! It's just overdue with how long and how much I've admired you all~
Just so it's perfectly clear,
Jess is the most awesome person on both sides of whatever river I might randomly reference.
The feedback you gave for my story âNo Promisesâ was amazing. I couldnât possibly have hoped for even a third of what you wrote. The emotions! And the specifics! And the dying! Thank you so much for reading my story so closely and taking the time to write so much feedback. It really made my night/morning (overnight shift at workâŠ).
Also, youâve ruined reviews for me. Also also, still looking forward to the next chapter of âR&Râ!
Merry Christmas, Jess (Â chromaticallychallenged )! I was your secret santa:) Hope you like your gift!

What does chromatically challenged mean??
Firstly, this term was actually coined by TheForceIsStrongWithThisOne on ff.net a few years back. All credit for the phrase goes to him. (And if you havenât read his fics, GO NOW. GO DO IT.)
âChromatically challengedâ means just what it sounds like! The word âchromaticâ relates to color, and so the phrase pretty much insinuates that the colors in front of you donât work well together.
In terms of BB and Rae, this phrase is really fitting! Because Beast Boyâs colors (forest green, fuchsia, dark green) and Ravenâs colors (midnight blue, violet, gray) donât function naturally, beautifully, or rhythmically together. Instead, they clash.
Which is absolutely fantastic, because their personalities clash as well!
So when I apply the phrase âchromatically challengedâ to this pairing, itâs definitely a double-whammy. ;) Beast Boy and Ravenâs colors donât just not mix, they clash - and this is perfect, because so do their personalities. Imagine these two walking around together; in terms of color, theyâd look RIDICULOUS standing next to each-other! Similarly, their character traits mimic this.
(Of course, I also believe that these characters - and also these colors - can evolve, and can be balanced by one-another. But this is irrelevant to the question, aha.)
