This is the eighth piece in my series, “Catharsis,” which is a body of work and writing about my medical experiences, my journey through illness and disability. “Chronic Migraine” is a piece addressing my struggles with migraines that I have had since my teens. These migraines are treatment resistant, and have forced me to try an array of medications across several health providers that caused serious side effects. I now get regular injections, both in office and at home, to combat these episodes, but continue to have breakthrough migraines. — “Chronic Migraine” ink and gouache on Strathmore paper 18”x24” #accessibility: A large scale ink painting of three figures with short hair, wearing black tank tops and a metallic gold chain, lined up with their elbows on a table with a painting of static in the background. All of them are depicted in various stages of pain from a migraine attack. From left to right: 1) The figure is cradling her head in her hand. 2) The figure cups her head in both of her hands. 3) The figure pushes her thumbs into her eye sockets, trying to relieve pain. . . . . . #Art #Artworks #ArtDaily #DailyArt #Artsy #InstaArt #ArtistsofInstagram #ArtCollector #FineArt #WomanArtist #ChronicallyIllArtist #DisabledArtist #ChronicallyIIll #Painting #Drawing #ChronicIllness #Disabled #Disability #ChronicMigraine #ChronicMigraines #Migraine #MigraineAttack @higginsinks https://www.instagram.com/p/CelzB_Zr9Tn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
