They are selectively mute, protecting Tillie from their powerful voice.
Tillie found them completely petrified under the ocean, trapped by their own hardened body.
She hid in them and ate their brain, accidentally freeing them from their imprisonment.
They love Tillie as their own daughter and they now live within all Tillie across all timelines.
