Zayn one shot for Kris

          “Good morning, Love.” The voice woke me up to be greeted by the smiling face of my boyfriend, Zayn.

            “Hey babe,”

            Zayn bent his head down toward me and gave me a soft yet passionate kiss.  “Merry Christmas.”

            “Merry Christmas,” I said back while lightly giggling.  Zayn smiled back at me, his messy hair not yet styled as it usually is.  I ruffled my hands through it, enjoying the feel of the product-free hair. 

            “Are you ready to go downstairs, Kris?”

            “Yep, let’s go!” I said slowly sliding out of bed and following Zayn to the door, my hand gently cradled in his. 

            Zayn had walked off into the kitchen so I sat on the couch waiting for him to return.  I remembered a few weeks ago when the boys had stormed into the flat with a tree on their shoulders.  They had insisted to get one and put it in our flat and come over Christmas morning for presents and just to hang out. 

            After all, they boys were my best friends.  And I was lucky enough to have one of them as my boyfriend. 

            Zayn came back with two steaming mugs in his hands and he handed one to me while taking a seat next to me.  Inside of the hot cup was one of my favorite seasonal drinks, peppermint coffee.

            I was about to start talking with Zayn when the front door opened and in walked Harry and Louis.  Soon after came Liam and Niall.  The six of us were so close, practically family, so the use of a doorbell was unnecessary.   

            By now, everyone either had tea or coffee or hot chocolate in hand.  “Okay, whose up for presents guys?” I asked glancing at the endless mountain of gifts piled under the Christmas tree.

            “I’ll go first!” Louis shouted, grabbing a few presents and passing them out to everyone.

            Eventually, everyone had given out their gifts until Zayn was the last one.  However, I noticed there were only four more presents lying under the tree.  They were all medium sized and Zayn picked each one up and walked over to each boy.  Wrapping paper was being thrown as the boys opened their matching jumpers. 

            After that commotion, I was still present-less.  My boyfriend had yet to give me his present to me, but there were none left.  Everyone else in the room looked as if they were hiding something, but I brushed it off.

            Finally, Zayn turned to me.  He walked over and sat back down next to me, taking both of my hands in his. 

            I thought he would reach around me and surprise me with something amazing, bigger than anything I could ever want.  But that seemed too cocky….

            Instead, I watched as my boyfriend bent down to one knee.  “Kris…”

Five minutes later, I was engaged.
