From Strangers to Lovers - Lee Chanhee
a/n: this was requested by an Angel friend of mine ; no proof-read
Chanhee never thought to met a girl at the game room, at least a girl who he wouldn't just see as a friend.
When he saw you sitting at the computer next to him and playing League of Legends he thought you just wanted to seem cool, so guys would approach you, it wouldn't be the first time any girl had tried to do that. And they did. Everyday he would sit next to you, because somehow there would be always the same people at the game room and all of you kind of had an unspoken seating plan. Everyday he would watch the other guys trying to talk to you, but you always ignored them, absorbed in your game. You knew you were pretty, but you didn't thought of yourself big because of that. You just wanted to enjoy playing LoL because at home your computer was too slow and your parents did not want to buy you another one, saying you should go out more. So you did, even though that meant you would just go to the game room near your house. Chanhee after all did not tried to distract you, knowing exactly how it feels to be playing and one person always tries to start a conversation. Another reason was because he, too, was busy playing his game.
After a few weeks the other guys finally leaved you alone after you throwed a tantrum because your group has lost, which you thought was your fault because guys behind you always “aw“-ed at your actions and tried to give you tips and you tried one of those tips which led to you being the loser of the game. You screamed at the guys, even tried to throw things at them. What you didn't know was that some guys who were new at the game room tried talking to you too. It felt like you were a rare item they had never seen before, just because you were one of very few girls who came regulary.
But as soon as the other guys tried to come near your table, Chanhee shot them a glare. If glares could kill, all of them would lie on the floor. Everybody then stopped distracting you, because Chanhee was the eldest in the game room, everyone respected and kind of feared him.
You did not noticed this the first few times, but one day you saw him looking your way. First you thought his glare was meant for you and you asked yourself what ou did to him to upset him this much, because after all you never really talked to him that much. Just a quick „Hello“ when you sat down on the chair next to him and a „Goodbye“ when you'd leave. Chanhee was always the first one to be at the game room and always the last one to go home.
As you saw, that his eyes did not shot the glare to you but behind you you turned around, seeing guys standing a few feet away, whsipering to each other and constantly looking at you. When they noticed the glare of Chunji, they quickly turned their back to you. You smiled to yourself as you turned back to Chunji, seeing him immersed in his game again.
„Thank you“, you whispered, knowing exactly that he would hear it, before returning your gaze back to the computer screen.
„No problem“, Chanhee answered smiling.
About 2 weeks passed by till Chanhee finally had the courage. He wanted to get to know you, outside of the game room. Without all the other guys. You started to like Chanhee too but weren't sure, if he was just being nice when he made the guys stop getting on your nerves. What if he was just annoyed by them and did it for his own sake? You just didn't want to embarrass yourself, which is why you never tried to start an actual conversation with him.
It was already late on that day, you were staying longer than usual cause this round felt like the most exciting one you ever had. Your left hand flew over the keyboard while with your right you controlled the computer mouse. When you finally finished and won the game you noticed that Chanhee was staring at you.
In fact he already watched you for about 10 minutes, being entertained by how your face went through all kinds of emotion while playing. He found it cute, but even cuter because it was you.
He smiled at you, brightly. You coud have sworn that your face was red because finally you felt so hot. His smile was breathtaking.
„Is something on my face?“, you asked shyly, burying your face into your hands.
„No. No there's nothing Don't worry.“
You looked back to him, now giving him a smile too. It was silent between you two for a few seconds, till Chanhee finally breathed and handed you a piece of paper.
„What is that?“
„I wrote my number there. I... thought we could meet outside the game room one time or another.“
You unfolded the paper, looking at the different numbers and his name. His handwriting was just as beautiful as he was.
„Sure. I'd love that.“ You answered, looking back at him.
You did not really know if youtwo were dating or not. Chanhee already took you out on about 4 meetings, or should you call it dates? It felt like a date because he took you to amazing places like the beach or one time to an amusement park. Your 3rd date was a picknick he made himself in a park in the center of town.
Your interest in him started to grown as you learned new things about him every day you met him. But being afraid of getting rejected and losing those fantastic moments led you to keeping your mouth shut. You talked to your friends about him, even your mother told you that all you could talk about was Lee Chanhee and people got annoyed by it because they always told you: “ Why would he do that for you, if he wouldn't be interested?“ You understood what they meant but you still were shy, it was always like that.
Chanhee noticed it to, but did not thought of it you being shy but you being not interested in him. He always had to be the one starting a conversation and even then your answers would be short. He was afraid that you were just being kind to him.
It was the day of your 5th meeting/date/whatever and you wanted to get out of your shell, but it didn't went as you had expected it. Chanhee talked to his friends beforehand, asking for tips how to make you his. Normally he wasn't that shy. He was really outgoing, he would tell people how he felt about them the moment he realized his feelings. But with you it was different, he felt like a lost boy everytime he would met you. He would not know how to put words right being distracted by your beautiful face. His heart would beat a thousand times faster, at least he felt like that and he was afraid you would hear it.
His friends did not know him this way too, telling him just to tell her how he felt, maybe in form of a letter if he was too shy to actually tell her. But Chanhee was never the man of words, more like the man of actions. That why he invited you on a 5th date. He told you to just dress casually, but he would not tell you where you were going.
In the end you just walked through the town. The sun was setting and you were just walking through the streets, enjoying the birds singing on top of the trees which surrounded you. You immediately stoped in your move when you felt something warm embracing your left hand.
As you looked, Chanhee's fingers were intertwined with yours. You did not know what to do, as you were too surprised. You just looked in his face, your cheeks burning because you were blushing way too hard.
„Chanhee“ was all you could whisper, before he smiled sheepishly and looked right into your eyes.
„This is something I wanted to tell you already on our first meeting, but i just couldn't. You make my heart and mind go crazy and... I just like you Y/N. I really really like you and for me all these meetings were dates. I just hope for you it was just as amazing as for me and... I like you. I really do and I hope you feel the same for me.“
You were taken aback. Too many feelings went through your entire body but soon a smile was formed on your lips. Your heart beat fast in your chest as you squeezed his hand and pulling him closer for a hug.
„Of course these dates were amazing. I really enjoy spending time with you.“ Your answer wasn't more than a whisper. This was your moment and you didn't want others too hear more than they should.
Chunji embraced your body, stroking your hair and smiling bright like a sunshine.
„Then would you like to spend even more time with me? Like in boyfriend and girlfriend time?“
You just nodded, taking in the scent of his hoodie. Never made you a guy feel ike Chanhee did. And finally you once were thankful to your parents, that they told you to go outside. Because if you didn't went to the Game Room you would've never met the guy who completed you like a missing puzzle piece.
