I just finished The Testing and holy shit. It's amazing. It's set in a dystopian world "the seven stages of war" left it a complete barren wasteland. Those that survived started to rebuild and create a new civilization. Well fast forward a hundred years and that where the story begins. Every year the top of the graduating class from each colony are chosen for testing. If they pass they go onto the University to study and become a future leader and it focuses on Cia a girl from the Five Lakes Coloney. She was chosen as one of the people to go to the testing. Cia's dad has gone through the testing before and went to the university. And the advice he gives her is to not trust anyone. And I'm telling you the story gets so intense. I honestly had to put it down because i was so scared to read what happens next. Especially when it involved Tomas a boy Cia has know her whole life. The book is full of twists and turns. It's so hard to put it down. I literally fell in love with it. I read it in one day. Reading the hardships and challenges Cia faces was so exciting and thrilling. It really feels like you're there you just get so absorbed. I definetly recommend this book. The best thing is it's a trilogy. I cannot wait to read the rest.

Will Donovan: Killing was the easy part. Kind of like killing a wolf back home. You just aim and fire and your problem is solved.
Cia Vale: You think it's that easy? That blond girl you killed with your crossbow wasn't an animal. She had a family. Friends. People who love her. She was trying to survive the test the best she could. Just like you.
Will Donovan: Her name was Nina. She was from Pierre colony. One of the girls who made it to the end went to school with her.

Will Donovan: And no. You're right. It's not that easy. The act of killing is simple. Living with it...
Well, maybe that's what the whole test is really all about. Leaders are forced to kill all the time. Then they have to learn to live with the decisions they make. Just like I'm going to learn to live with mine.
Cia Vale: You think that was the point of the fourth test? TO learn if you could kill and live with it?
Will Donovan: I guess we're going to find out, Right?
All leaders have to live with disappointment at some point or another. If I have to learn that lesson early, I won't enjoy it, but I will do my best not to let you down.
