Scanned from the book Annual Board Report of the Board of Regents of The Smithsonian Institution published in 1919. This is a beautiful plate of 2 cicadae by the artist Robert E. Snodgrass who lived from 1875 to 1962. Snodgrass was well known for his scientific illustrations.
