the time has come
school concert yesterday! it was an all-Verdi repertoire; we played the overture to Sicilian Vespers and La Forza Del Destino, as well as songs from La Traviata, Macbeth, and Aida, including their preludes. we also played a more obscure piece, the sinfonia from Aida! aaaa im so glad it’s over because now I can focus on my technical exam! also that’s little old me in front of the cimbasso! hehe.
The Barclay Brass performed music by Bernard Herrmann, W.A. Mozart, Christer Danielsson, Carlos Gardel, Herman Bellstedt, Florence Price, Jerry Goldsmith, John Powell, Enrique Crespo, and Billy Joel at The U.S. Army Band 2026 Tuba-Euphonium Workshop, and featured euphonium soloist Hiram Diaz & Willie Clark on tuba and cimbasso. #BarclayBrass #Cimbasso #Euphonium #Tuba #TEW2026 #TEW #Music

ykw i want to play some day.... a cimbasso... cool asf imo. tuba register in a vaguely trombone shaped tall thing? Hell yes brother. They also have rotary valves and rotary is so nice... Piston sucks fart and my euphonium is so fucking noisy bc i have a loose spring in my 4th valve absolutely awful
