I saw your art of the Neo-Pyrrha fusion I suggested, loved it. And now that you’re back I have yet another request of you. Not a fusion or anything but just… honestly it’s just me being a little selfish because I want to see a visual representation of a fic I’m writing lol.

And the idea: Team RWBY, but led by Yang’s older adopted stepsister… Cinder Rose.

For context, I’m currently working on a fic where Ruby and Cinder swap places roughly at birth. So Ruby is in Salem’s inner circle and Cinder was adopted by Summer and Tai before Ruby was even born.

Also if this is way too big an ask I fully get it, I just can’t contain my brain going haywire every time I think of my little goobs. Even just some feedback would be more than enough, I just love my goobs too much.

(P.S. the working title for the fic is “Ashen Rose Petals.” Anyway have a nice day!)

That's an awesome title! Sorry it took so long, I was charting characteristics that were intrinsically cinder vs nurtured traits. She'd have anger problems and an issue with being petty but it wouldn't be her driving motivations, I imagine.

RWBY AU where Cinder Fall gets found and adopted by Summer Rose… shortly after she had her start of darkness but before Salem found her. And Summer doesn’t know of what she did.

Now the Xiao-Long-Rose family has a very angry and rebellious teen in their hands that is perfectly ok with murder and can barely control and is also a terrible influence on Ruby and Yang

So I'm going to recommend that instead of taking my mild take on this, you check out @humbledoodles awesome work first. Okay? Now that you've seen greatness, here's my take.

So Cinder is taken in by Summer after the Glass Unicorn she was raised in burns down, with the bodies of her family lost in the blaze. Summer comforts her, binds her wounds, and takes her away, flipping Rhodes off just before Raven 'discusses' his handling of the situation. No, officer, we do not know where the body is buried.

She is brought home to the Rose-Xiao-Long home, and Taiyang only takes a moment to look her over before asking what she wanted for lunch. She is welcomed into the home by her new step sisters, and shown what a real family is like. So the angry girl gets two feral gremlins with innocent faces as siblings

Summer and Taiyang help her process the trauma she grew up with, while rotating taking missions near Patch. The first mission that they both went on, was a low level run abroad, and Cinder was going to be in charge (with Qrow watching the house).

A week later, they had a new sister with emerald green hair, and the adults settling in to their parental roles, with less hunting. Taiyang takes up a job as an instructor at Signal, while Summer is a stay at home mother.

Cinder takes the entrance exam for Beacon a year later than others her age, having had to catch up academically. Admittedly, that left Summer with the real feral children at home, but she was proud of her daughter, and knew that she was going to be great… or Oz would never know peace.

OCxCanon Week// Day 6: Protect

(Once upon a time, I ate a caffeine bar on Friday night, only got two hours of sleep, and was a dysfunctional zombie for all of Saturday. Soooo my prompt was late…sorry. By the way, all my prompts for this week have taken place after Cinder and Hanzo get together, but this will be before.)

A screeching voice fell on deaf ears, trying desperately to shout over the sounds of war going on outside. But no matter how many times Rosangela cried his name, Hanzo wouldn’t wake up. She was supposed to be in the field then, running through the war-ridden streets and taking on any drone she could find. But Hanzo was stationed in an old church bell tower and was supposed to be sniping for the duration of the fight. As soon as Rosangela saw the tower take a hit, bricks and wood splintering off the sides, she knew he wouldn’t last long. She found him just how she thought she would: unconscious with scratches and bruises all over him…she didn’t expect a broken arm, however.

Finally, she groaned, hauling him into her arms, and slinging his bow and arrows over her shoulder. If he didn’t want to get up, fine, she’d carry him back to base. He’d be toast if he stayed on a battlefield with a broken arm.

“Urgh! You’re heavy!” she whined as she began carrying him towards the stairs.

Meanwhile, her Comm-link was going off constantly, with many different Overwatch agents asking for her status. Hearing the shouting, degrading voices of her teammates made it that much harder to drag a man a little over her height and age down a steep, winding staircase.

When she reached the bottom, she just shouted, “I’m fine! Jeez, just get off my case!”

Then she promptly took the earpiece out and shoved it in her pocket. No location, no request for backup—just a “get off my case.” Rosangela cringed at how unprofessional it sounded. She may have yelled that at Joseph or her old friends, but certainly not her Overwatch teammates! Cinder figured she’d get chewed out for that later. Glancing down at Hanzo’s unconscious face, she knew she had more important things to worry about.

At first, she moved slowly; to preserve her energy and to not alert enemies. But one could only be so stealthy when carrying somebody else, and she had no chance of sneaking away from a group of four or five drones!

“Fuck!” she yelped, and scrambled away from them as fast as she could.

As she ran, the bots chased after, firing at her as they went. Cinder hunched her back, trying to shield Hanzo’s body from the shots as best she could. Only a few seconds after the chase had started, Rosangela could already feel herself becoming fatigued. Her boots felt heavy on her legs and her arms threatened to give out at any moment and drop her comrade.

Bracing herself, she flung herself over a bridge and landed with a loud thud on the pavement below. She tried to take most of the fall for Hanzo, but she was pretty sure she only fractured his arm even more. Heavy, labored breaths escaped her mouth as Cinder dragged Hanzo under the bridge and propped him up against one of the supports. Just then, the drones that had been chasing them landed, their metallic limbs shuddering from the impact. Cinder slowly walked toward them, putting herself between them and her teammate.

“Just try and touch him. I dare you,” she growled as she got into her fighting stance.

The drones made a few robotic tones and beeps before rushing at Rosangela. Hanzo was out for most of the fight, but slowly came to right as Rosangela finished off the last one. She was just stomping into the fifth drone’s core, a sad, power-down noise leaking from the bot’s body. Rosangela looked exhausted, her arms hanging from her sides as her chest moved up and down, filling and emptying her lungs of oxygen. When she turned and saw that he was awake, she sighed in relief and stumbled over to him.

“Talk about the reverse damsel-in-destress,” she joked, kneeling down next to him.

“What…” he mumbled, blinking in confusion, “…Where am I?”

“Your sniper’s nest got found out and took a hit,” Cinder explained as she tried to catch her breath, “I was supposed to be holding the parameter around it anyways, so I went up to check on you. You were passed out and I knew they’d be coming for you soon, so I carried you out.”

Hanzo found himself speechless for a moment, peering out from under the bridge and up at the bell tower where he was supposed to be. She had carried him all the way from there?

“You…” he tried to think of something to say.

“Before you ask, yes, I thought of calling for medical assistance,” she rolled her eyes, thinking he was going to lecture her, “But we were stationed pretty far out from base, so I knew they might not get there in time. Besides, a fortification near base just took a serious blow, and I figured the medics would be too busy to send any real support.”

Hanzo just blinked again, and glanced over at the bots she had just destroyed.

“Oh, yeah,” she shrugged, “They followed us from the tower, but don’t worry, I took care of them,”

So she had dragged him all that way and fended off a group of violent drones? He didn’t expect any of his comrades to care that much.

“…Thank you,” he breathed, still a little taken by what had happened, “You…saved my life…most likely,”

Now it was Rosangela’s turn to fall silent. She dropped her head shyly and gave a little shrug. It was then that Hanzo noticed the blood seeping through her right shoulder. It was difficult to notice when she was bleeding since most of her uniform was black.

“You’re bleeding,”

“It’s just a scrape,” she replied instantly, practically cutting him off altogether, “Besides, you’re the one with a broken arm,”

With that, she stood up, stretching her upwards and trying to work the soreness out of her muscles.

“Right, we should keep moving. Can you walk now?” she asked.

Slowly getting to his feet and leaning into her, he nodded. She gave him a little smile before continuing their trek back to base. As they walked, he looked up at her, then to her chest. Had he really been that close to her before, being cradled in her arms protectively? Part of him wished he had been awake for some of that…

Cinder Rose: Cinder early post-adoption has a serious authority problem and refuses to listen or obey to Summer and Tayang because she thinks that they want to use her and it takes so much time for her to trust them.

That's a good point, and by long time, we're talking years. However, we are talking about two who were demonstrably the most domestic huntress/hunstman of the show. I see that they are probably just asking her to help clean the table after a meal, watch/play with the younger two while the adults do dishes, fold laundry, or other bigger projects.

Sure, as she grows she'll be asked to do more, but she is asked, not ordered. So gradually she learns that she is not with her old step family, and they do not fear her. They want her to be happy, and that could lead to a breaking point where she is comforted by the adults when they find her. The pair taking the time to explain things, and to assure Cinder that her feelings are valid.

And then the younger sisters rush in and hug her tightly, just to add to the domesticness of the scene.

If i had a nickel for every time someone i know had a feral chicken living in their yard for weeks/months on end and i had to go catch it and rehab it in our basement much to my parents dismay I'd have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
