Character ask meme thing for: MCU Bucky and Cassian Andor (because I've fallen down the Rogue One rabbit hole again and need to share my pain with someone)

MCU Bucky:

First impression: loved him. my first impression of CATFA was “it was fine, why did bucky have to die”

Impression now: he deserves better than the MCU :’)

Favorite moment: besides all of TWS, i have to say every time he uses the shield ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ im easy

Idea for a story: bucky interacting with any avengers who are not steve or tony stank

Unpopular opinion: i doubt i have any, lol

Favorite relationship: he and sam saved Civil War and also my life

Favorite headcanon: too gay to function. loves animals. can’t wait for steve and t’challa to Dramatically Unfreeze him (”who are you?” “someone who loves you”) (ignore the star wars segue)

Cassian Andor:

First impression: i’m so happy you asked this because i can finally tell this stupid story. so, admittedly, my impression of Cassian was biased from the get-go. @lisa-in-the-sky introduced me to Diego Luna 3-4 months before i saw rogue one… so i was already in a deep hole. also at that time we started using diego luna as a face claim for riley reyes in The Legendarily Unfinished Post-Apocalypse AU, wherein riley is a key member of an urban underground anti-authoritarian rebellion. (YEAH, I KNOW.)  so not only was i obsessed with his first and every appearance on screen (make no mistake, when Rogue One cut to a dirty crowded alien street and Cassian turned around to scowl dramatically over his shoulder just so the audience could get a good look at his face because This Is A Main Character, i fell for it, i was so easy, complete goner, never mind previous knowledge of diego luna’s singing voice), but also i spent his first scene literally shaking because clearly rogue one plagiarized my unwritten fic

Impression now: every time i think about him i love him more :’)

Favorite moment: “light it up”

Idea for a story: oh … i shouldn’t

Unpopular opinion: jyn doesn’t deserve him

Favorite relationship: if you think about it, he didn’t really have a significant moment with anyone but jyn, but there was …… So Much behind his interaction with Chirrut (”i sense you carry yours with you wherever you go”) and also i’m a sucker for cassian/bodhi fanart so

Favorite headcanon: scarif never blew up and cassian is still there sipping mojitos on the beach

Also sorry for the ask spam, but I just found a post where you had an aerialist tagged as a circus rogue, and as a professional aerialist who usually ends up playing a rogue, this warmed my heart and I very much approve.

Of course! I feel like bards, being the performers they are, are usually first considered to be circus material but the archetype can stretch over a lot of classes. 

Also, being a professional aerialist sounds really freaking cool. Aerialists and dancers are the most under-appreciated athletes in my opinion. The amount of strength, balance, and flexibility required is incredible.

YESSS TO ALL THIS!!! I'm trying to think of some of the wacky stuff Boyfriend's platoon has gotten up to, but all I can think of at the moment is the one guy who would just go around taking a single bite out of other people's food and then putting it back where he found it. Oh, and that time he taught his team Barrett's Privateers and they all then spent the next couple weeks singing it loudly and constantly.

jdjfkjgkl sam and riley singing loud out-of-tune duets any time they’re in public. pretty soon, every time they start in, a chorus of boos follows. they sing louder.

Well, so from my experience, the military shows it's affection in really weird and somewhat violent ways, so they would probably be pranking/ambushing/aggressively shit talking each other CONSTANTLY. But also like, if anyone ELSE tried to harass either of them, then it was ON. And they would constantly be making fun of anyone who wasn't Air Force.

hydrangea ARE my favorite!!!! 😍😍😍 also, for those who didn’t know, dahlias are the national flower of mexico. which i only know bc of research for my Sam Wilson Birthday Bang fic. spoiler alert.

hydrangea: what inspired you to begin writing in the first place? reading. being raised in the theater.

i’m mostly like 99% secretive, yes. 

my husband is the only person who knows what a TRUE NERD i am. he knows about my tumblr (i think technically he still follows me but he hasn’t checked tumblr in about 3 years, no exaggeration). also he knows i read and write fanfiction, we don’t like, DISCUSS it, so like, he doesn’t know specifically that i’m writing a very stupid alternate universe to the second captain america movie which doesn’t even involve the two title characters. he doesn’t know THAT much. but yeah. he’s the only person who rly knows.

Ok, so I guess right now what I'm most curious about is Steve and Bucky before the whole getting frozen thing. Anything you can tell us about what their lives were like way back when? Like I assume things like "what happened to Bucky" and "why does Steve have superpowers now" will be covered in the fic, but like, yeah. Also anything you can share about Clint? Is he still an archery nerd in the future 'verse?

2016 steve and bucky were total hipsters. @lisa-in-the-sky might have a better idea of what they DO, like for a living or whatever. i just have more vague pictures.

but they were definitely dating, they had a little apartment together with lots of potted plants and a really bad view. steve is probably an art student or something and bucky was like ....... i dunno maybe a college dropout who works .... in construction or landscaping or something? holy crap i’m not sure if we ever talked about this, but if so, i’m failing.

anyway he enlists in the army.

most of their origin is pretty much “the first avenger.” sort of.

they like stupid internet jokes. steve drags bucky to hipster coffee shops. bucky really likes cats and dogs but steve is allergic.

YES CLINT IS IN THIS AU. YES HE IS AN ARCHER. clint is a GIFT. i think he’s probably showing up soon, actually.
