Once you get this, say five things you like about yourself, publicly, then send it to 10 others! If you want to. No pressure.
oh jesus. heather. why. uh.
1. I like that I’m very very loyal to the people around me. legitimately, I would not have gotten this far alive without meeting the friends I did when I did and I would 10/10 do morally awful things for them if they asked.
2. I like to think that I’m at least passable in my writing. people I really respect as writers have deemed to talk to me (soBS!!! you guys are so cool) so I must be doing something right.
3. I like the fact that I know how to make myself look good compared to my every day baseline. I’ve finally figured out that my brown skin is really pretty and goes well with certain colours, and that I’m not awkward and gangly, and that I have beautiful eyes. still getting used to the idea that people find me attractive, BUT ONE DAY!!
4. I like that I’m stubborn, especially in regards to my depression and school. like. idk. my brain is really really awful to me, but I’m still getting through school and I’m still finding it within myself to reach out to professionals and my friends and undo all the unhealthy shit I’ve learned. but I’m glad that I’m determined as fuck to keep going.
5. my counselor in first year once told me something along the lines of, ‘mika, you need to stop having emotions over things you can’t control’. but I honestly disagree; I like that I can feel so deeply emotions like anger and worry and sympathy to the point where it becomes instinct. and I understand it leaves me really vulnerable to things that could hurt me like abuse, which is probs what my counselor was trying to warn me about - but. I love that I can love.
