A reminder that cishet queer people exist and are just as valid as any other queer individual <3
Cistrans and queerhet culture is not knowing that you're queer for many many years because "cishet" was used as the opposite of "queer" in the community, so you didn't dare to explore your own identity because of thinking you can't be both at the same time
Dude I wish Cishet wasn't used as a way to say that, like just say "people who aren't queer" "people who aren't in the LGBTQ community" like it's not that hard.
And I can think of multiple ways a Cishet person can be queer.
Reminder that Cishet queer people exist
Cishet drag queens are still queer
Cishet aromantic people are still queer
Cishet asexual people are still queer
Cishet polyamorous people are still queer
Cishet intersex people are still queer
Non-binary’s who identify as cishet are still queer
Cishet gnc people are still queer
Abrosexual people who identify as cishet are still queer
Genderfluid people who identify as cishet are still queer
Cishet people who identify as queer in any way are still queer
Some queer cishet flags I designed! The first one is the queer chevron flag with the cishet flag colors, and the second one is the multi-colored queer flag with colors from the cishet, genderqueer, and nonbinary flags. The colors are to represent the rejection of the gender binary, cisheteronormativity, and society’s expectations
Flags to show that you identify with your AGAB and are attracted exclusively to other genders, but nonetheless are queer and harmed by cisheteronormativity.
(Examples of this include a male/masculine-presenting cishet woman or a cishet man who crossdresses or does drag. A gender variant person or a cisgender identified genderqueer person may also identify as a queer cishet. These people do not navigate relationships or society the way a typical cishet person would and do not benefit from cisheteronormativity. This is not at all the same as a non-queer cishet trying to invade LGBTQ+ spaces.)
I do not intend to force the ‘queer’ identity onto anyone. These are designed for those who identify as queer.
I like how some people's immediate reaction to seeing two completely contradictory terms in my description is "this is a cishet using slurs" instead of "this is a joke"
Shoutout to queer cis/het folks!
You are loved, awesome, and accepted
