Came across the purest distillation of when games meet real politics.

Cities Skylines 2 recently updated where the developers ‘fixed’ the ‘high rent issue’ by removing landlords from the game and changing how rent is calculated.

Which is kinda antithetical to the whole realistic city building sim vibe they’re going for. Devs shouldn’t be duck out because they managed to simulate capitalism too closely.

All complicated video games should have notes feature, so you know what you left at after few weeks of break.

Like just "remember to make bedrooms for migrants", "connect new district to power grid" or "reminder: invade Hungary" would help me not abandon so many saves in so many games.

It’s funny to me how with games like Rimworld, players will try to make the most evil colony possible and it’ll be like “yeah we run entirely on prison labor and when they die we skin them and turn them into hats” but it’s a very juvenile sense of evil that’s you’d expect to see in the margins of a middle school notebook

but when Cities: Skylines players want to do evil it’ll be “I built an urban freeway interchange and parking lots in accordance with real Texas zoning laws” and every comment is something like “this looks like Houston’s 290/10/160 interchange, I drive on it for work and dream about blowing it up every single day” or “you’re a real sick fuck you know that? Also good job with your frontage roads!”

It's been a while since i worked in cities skylines, but I did a few little things tonight but i also forget the last time i showed off my city so here's how it looks now:
