The Muiderpoort in Amsterdam is a city gate on the Alexanderplein, at the intersection of Plantage Middenlaan with Sarphatistraat. The gate was part of the fortifications of Amsterdam. On either side of the gate are bridge 264 (over the Plantage Muidergracht near Artis) and bridge 265 (over the Singelgracht to Het Tropenmuseum on the Mauritskade). It is a national monument.

Gorgeous masonry throughout the Warsaw Barbican, rebuilt in the 1950s after the war from bricks that were part of the 16th-century original and had been taken for nearby structures, as well as historic bricks from other Polish cities. Delightful. Photos May 2019 Bauzeitgeist.
