Interactive Saurian Adventures: 0 - An introduction.
This is a Quest, perhaps popularized by RubyQuest from 4chan’s /tg/, though I will gather a lot of inspiration from the other more grand-scale version, perhaps best exemplified by King Alfonso’s threads of yesteryear.
How it works out is that I will set up a stage, explain the world, the beings in it, and take guidance and commands from the players - you lot. The structure of 4chan meant that these were often fast paced, Anon would throw in his ideas, either following the suggested options from the Original Poster, or throw in his own suggestions. It is very freeform, and the passage of time is left vague, but during certain circumstances time till slow down to a specified passage of time; for example during times of intense conflict or maybe even entering more modern eras if we get that far.
And how this will be done is that I will take suggestions from you by tallying replies to threads and Asks sent to this blog - Anon or not - and after a couple or days or so I will write up what happens next. This is very freeform, which means that you can suggest as small suggest as you want, or as big and grand suggestions as you want. I will reason and figure out how quickly these changes or actions will take, if they succeed or not, or if they are even possible. Some will be decided at random, others will be left up to my judgment. If the tribe wants to use body paint then that will be done instantly, but a Megalithic construction will take quite some time and resources to complete, and I will most likely give a firm but gentle “No” in response to steampunk prosthetic limbs if we haven’t even discovered metal handling yet.
But if you want the holy men to pray or attempt curses or sacrifices to aid them in their efforts well... There is not much to stop us from taking this fantasy game into a FANTASY game! Just be aware that even good ideas might fail, so have that in mind when you throw out the out-there ideas, but I will always welcome ingenuity and cleverness - or just plain Outside the Box thinking.
So, with that in mind, I hope you all will enjoy this little experiment of a game. Make sure to tell your friends if they might like this kind of stuff, because the more people we can get into this, the more fun it’ll get!
