My Taiwanese friend (Yes she's actually from Taiwan), recommended I try CJ Lion's Rice Day shampoo and rinse. This stems from the fact that we would have conversations about hair and face products (You know, what we found worked best, what we would recommend, etc).
And I told her I already had products I used for my face that I was happy with (Ironically some are from Taiwan, others are from Japan and Korea). But my problem was my hair. It's naturally super ridiculous dry. And even when I add moisture to it, it tends to get ridiculously puffy. Further more I am plagued by endless amounts of split ends, even when I get a trim because my hair is super fragile.
Now don't get me wrong. Over the years i've found some things that help. The Aphogee line being one of things that has helped my hair. But there was nothing that really helped my hair 100%.
So I gave it a shot. I mean, what did I have to lose?
First let's start with the price.
Frankly, it's worth it. I can't speak for everyone. But where I got my Rice Day shampoo and rinse, I only paid about $25, and it comes with 2 550 ml shampoo bottles, and 1 550 ml rinse bottle. Considering I pay about $17 for just 1 bottle of Aphogee's moisture care shampoo. This is a deal to me.
I tried it for the first time on Sunday (I don't wash my hair everyday, it's bad for it.) And I gotta say I love it. It lathers nicely, and you don't need a lot of it to wash your hair like you do typical US shampoos. I have long hair. So it usually takes a lot of shampoo to wash my hair is any US shampoo (more than a quarter size).
With Rice Day, I only need about 2 pumps worth (it's a pump bottle btw), and it is more than enough to wash my hair. And the results were amazing. My hair was nice and soft. Didn't go to automatically puffy. And helped keep tangles a bay for a while.
Even though it was only one use. There was a huge difference in my hair. And best of all it was gentle on my hair.
Now in my experience. I've pretty much have always been very satisfied and happy with the bathing products from Asia (You name it, I've got something from there. China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, India, etc).
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not sitting here saying it will work for everybody. I am saying if you have issues give Rice Day a try because it might give you the results you're looking for at a reasonable price.
So for me. It's just another product I can add to my list that actually works for me. There isn't really any US products that have worked good for me. Like some hair stuff just makes my hair greasy, and do nothing to help it. Others just dry it out even more. Same with my face. Just makes it greasy, or dries it out too much.
I think I've pretty much given up on a lot of US products. They generally suck, and do not do what they claim to do. And you pretty much have to spend a lot of money on stuff that does work (IE: Aphogee) So i'm glad I found something that works. And isn't as costly.
I'll probably still use Aphogee (And Ion, I only use it's conditioner though since Aphogee only has a leave in conditioner...or atleast that's why sold in stores). Cause I know you do have to switch your shampoos and stuff every so often. Otherwise you get build up. (Though i've never had this issue myself, but then again, I spent a lot of time looking for stuff that works. So maybe it never got the chance LOL)
