fanfic rec friday!

Today I read the one-shot brave face talk so lightly (hide the truth) by nuttyshake @clacing

it’s a modern au featuring catra and adora committing tax evasion but the real tax evasion was the love they found along the way. It’s on the longer side of one shots, instantly raising my bar, but it found it’s way into my recs by being cute, heartfelt, and fun.

I think your last anon was talking about Adora lying to Catra about why they broke up! Anyway I'm loving your exes fic SO MUCH and I can't wait for you to post every week!! Also very excited to know why Adora lied. I wrote a long analysis about it in the chapter 1 comments but now you're saying it's not the reason most people expect so I'm not sure anymore fgjkfklgkl

oh i see!! in that case, it hasn’t been revealed yet. all we know right now is that adora lied, but not why and not what came before it. that’s gonna come up next chapter so. be ready!

If you're still doing the author commentary thing, I'd love a comment on that part in the last chapter of Like You where Adora confronts Shadow Weaver and DT sits back and enjoys the whole show (I was dying laughing during that part. DYING) and/or.... honestly the entirety of chapter 5

oh so this actually leads into a little fun fact that would never make it into the written story but was always my intention to be part of the back story: shadow weaver has no idea that dt had anything to do with catra’s legal problems. long story short sw was very uninvolved with catra’s court process (and even more uninvolved with catra’s romantic life) and as a result had never met dt before, one day, they applied for the receptionist job with a very very vague reference from catra. that was sort of my easter egg for dt playing a kind of spy role.

idk if you were looking for some more insight on that scene (which I would be v v v happy to give) but i just thought that’d be a fun little story nugget that i never would’ve gotten to address at any other opportunity

adfhdsjh thank you so much!! i love your blog so its really cool you like my fics! to answer your question i am now on month six(?? i think) of self-quarantine and i’m using writing as my only escape lol so i’m really glad people have been enjoying my stuff! its been years since ive written and my fics mostly only got a few notes before so its been really cool to see people responding to my work and reaching out because of it! side note: i just checked my ao3 stats and i have posted 137529 words since i started writing for she-ra in mid-june. and that doesnt even take into account my current number of nine in-progress/unfinished fics so.... welcome to quarantine i guess. some people are getting buff im getting carpal tunnel
