It all happened so quick that you didn't really had the time to try to refused, one day Kyou simply ran into you and asked, or rather, demanded for you to pretend to be he partner while coming up with a excuse that barely sounded credible, something about not wanting to worry her sister or something like that, between the rush she was in and the fact that she was trying to make you work with her the reason was barely underestansable
But no matter how much you tried to refused and fight back at the end you two ended up fake dating, Kyou almost forced you the moment her sister appeared and you had no other option that pretend too, after all, no matter how much bickering and teasing you treat Kyou with you hold no ill for Ryou, so you did it for Ryou's sake more than anything else, even if that meant having to stop the side eyes and teasing for a while, even if that just end up making the rumors of you two grow and spread like wildfire, after all even if you two weren't exactly popular you two still attracted a bit too much attention and the change in attitude was quickly noticed
It took a while and a lot of working out but at the end you two managed to have be a truce, to take it easy on the other and just pretend to be together at least for a while, you two passed from being always bothering each other and even going to each other throat to just tease and make jokes, again, it took a long time but at the end you two have grown comfortable enough to start making jokes and bother each other out of love and care instead of actually wanting to bother
Eventually spending time and just joking around, the affection hidden behind the teasing and bickering started to come more naturally, things became more sincere and covered in affection, things become more real, the once rivality that was edging with hate became a underline friendship, becoming true care and love
Things scalate slowly but securely and when less expected Kyou was finding herself stuttering while trying to handle the blush in her cheeks when her sister pointed out how cute you two are together, pointing out those small acts of love that have grown between you two, those times were the sincere care become obvious by the way both seek the other, holding things and offering snacks for the other has become so common, walking together, waiting when the other stops walking and even just teasing when the other is a bit late, everything has become so common that she has even forgotten the fact that this was suppoused to be a fake relasionship
But, once the overwhelming sense of flusterness started to wear off the sense of regret started to replace it, after all, before she could realice it she had already fallen in love in you, she doesn't want to lose you nor what you two have but she can't forget now that this is fake, that this relasionship will eventually end since it was nothing but a lie from the start
