Day 91
Icona Pop has released their Emergency EP. I had high hopes for this because I think “Emergency” is such a fantastic song (you can read my post about it here: http://goo.gl/oBf8ir), but these two new songs just don’t measure up to that. I mean, their good, but not “Emergency” good. I love the verses of “First Time” but I can’t stand the choruses. The verses have decent lyrics and a good beat but the choruses just have pretty blah lyrics and a pretty static tune. BUT I LOVE THE TRANSITITION SOUNDTHING THAT HAPPENS FROM 1:05 TO 1:10. And the bridge is pretty good too. Haha. “Clap Snap” has some interesting lyrics, but it isn’t my type of song. Too talkey and not musicey enough. I do love the part when she goes “everybody dance to the music” and there’s that little piano bit in the back. I wish there was more of that in the song.
