this is probably a very niche thing, but do you have any hand headcanons about pathologic characters? as in, who's right-handed or who's left-handed... or both.
YESSSSS OMG #YASSSSSSSS I DO! I DO IN FACT! IT'S NEVER TOO NICHE FOR ME HONEY #THOUGHTSHAVER
since most of the population is right-handed, imagine that if i'm not mentioning anyone they're either right-handed OR i don't have any particular headcanons. + you get some handwriting headcanons as well, a "buy one get one free" deal
Dankovsky: right-handed, relatively neat writing when he wants, otherwise you're getting that Doctor's Handwriting
Burakh: naturally right-handed, but he trained himself to be able to write with his left hand when he sprained his wrist age 14. his left-handed writing is kinda fucked up and it's obvious that's not his natural dominant hand, but if you squint and focus it's readable
Clara: ambidextrous, but she has very rarely written in her life so she doesn't even notice.
Andrey: naturally ambidextrous, has a left-handedness dominance
Peter: naturally ambidextrous, has a right-handedness dominance
(fun fact about ^ i headcanon that they always had to be sat together at school and for a while the teacher didn't understand why they didn't get any work done and then realized that's because the way they had them (peter on the left and andrey on the right) their elbows keep bumping in each other's so they just switched them around and it was fine)
Rubin: naturally left-handed but trained himself to be able to write/do other stuff with his right hand in case (it was for him a thing of like Discipline)
Lara: right-handed, relatively clean handwriting unless she starts losing it and scribbling
Grief: left-handed
Eva: right-handed, neat handwriting, likes to either embellish her lettering a lot or have very "dry", austere, almost worryingly simple shapes
Yulia: right-handed, a nervoussss writer, very tense grip on the pen, very low and slanted letters
Nina and Victoria: both ambidextrous
Katerina: naturally ambidextrous, her proficiency in both hands has been coming and going, and her morphine addiction has made her lose her grip and stability on her writing to the point it looks like chicken-scratch now
Capella: naturally ambidextrous, she uses mostly her right hand so far but will learn to use the left one more as well as she grows up + trains with stuff like sewing, embroidering, playing instruments,...
Khan: right-handed, relatively clean handwriting. it gets cleaner and more precise as he grows up because he goes on to go to college and learn languages, so he takes pride and effort into materializing the letters of languages other than his own like greek, arabic, any using the latin alphabet, etc.
Notkin: left-handed. he's barely literate because of his Shit Life Syndrome making his writing, when he tries, somewhat unintelligible. since he barely ever writes he has no muscle memory of how to hold his pen so his left hand doesn't smear the ink all over.
Catnip: right handed, clean and pretty handwriting, her grammar is kinda shit but she has an excuse. she's an orphan.
Dandy: left-handed, messyyyy handwriting, but his grasp on grammar's preddy good. paired with his sister ^ they make for Notkin's Redaction and Deciphering Team.
#yasssss!!!!!!
any thoughts on like older clara also i adore all your older kids designs you put so much love in your work i’d just die to have as rich of an artistic cannon as yours one day (´▽`ʃƪ )♡
okay hope u r having a real nice day bye ( ≧∇≦ )/ ♡
hiiii bestie i love to think about older clara ok so basically some kids i see as growing up to have like Actual Jobs (as you've seen in the Pots such as Notkin [whatever] Dandy [mail guy] Catnip [mail girl, butler, now she picks up boxes] Capella [mistress/diplomat/head of the Entreprise alongside her cringefail brother] and some i think like. stay ""technically"" unemployed, or what they do does not not bring riches or whatnot, they survive/live through their relationships, their bonds, through hobbies that can be used as bartering... typically, Grace stays the gravekeeper -> she is not paid, it is just an important ritualistic + spiritual + almost-religious place that she needs not be paid for because she'll be provided by others; i think murky fits that too like she once roamed the steppe, as an adult she also roams the steppe just longer + the herbs she gathers she can bring to burakh but like. not paid for this. like it's like the herb brides right they're not Employed. but they're not unemployed. they have something to do, they have a religious + spiritual + community-building place... right...
anyways all that ^ to say i think clara when she grows older fist in that category. just because she didn't get her way with the plague and the survival of the town doesn't mean she feels like god forsook her completely - i think she might have lost her faith for a while after the plague, but in the 5 years after that she regained her. she's anchored in the town, and when other girls/women bound to the mystical as she is have like... carried on living... in a town fundamentally changed, she can carry on living. wether or not she believes herself to be saintly still, i think she gravitates towards the sick, the dying, even the dead (i think her and grace hang out). i think she might hang out burakh's place to try to give her holy services to the sick and burakh would be like do Not. put your hands on my patients. you go to the corner and you can pray. i think she hangs out with the other kids [now grown] who simply by virtue of like. knowing how it is. kinda feed her and give her drinks. she's like a martyred saint having made vow of poverty and living through the good will of the people and everyone around is like "it's not that serious sister". she does prophecies and predictions, people might pay her in food... kind of like Aspity did in p2 of people coming to ask but they feel inclined to feed that poor girl... modern-day[not modern but you get it] prophetess
Genuinely curious on your thoughts on Clara in relation to the other healers. I know what you think about the other healers with each other ;)
🤭🤭🤭 teehee!
ok it's been a while since i last played and/or checked out clara's route so chances are a lot of these thoughts have Marinated since then but basically
towards dankovsky she does retain some sort of hostility, not outward hate but rather a... "you don't accept god and the mystical into your heart? ☦🛐📿🙏✨ ough ough?" and dislikes his constant and impermeable refusal of the whimsical and supernatural. she also has in her heart that she can, in some way, Open His Eyes to it [she can't, he was raised religious and found it kinda sucked. the art is nice though]. she's kind of like an evangelist if they didn't suck. when she realizes she won't change his mind, she's like. "🤷 ok. then die without knowing the utmost kind touch of a loving and destructing god." But she also has these... almost child-like tendencies of wanting him to reassure her when she gets so fucking scared of herself and her powers. his skepticism grounds her in the way a parent checking your closet for monsters as a child grounds you. but then when the Fear recedes she's Back On It.
towards Burakh she doesn't have the same "you don't accept god and the mystical into your heart?" as she does dankovsky because there is place for the mystical and supernatural in his life, and clara walks that line of Knowing a lot about his steppe affairs and misrepresenting to herself and others what they are, as she is... familiar with them, but some kind of almost-stranger still. i think she does see in him a kindred soul more than she does in dankovsky (even though she still does dankovsky) because their visions of the world Does Include something that cannot be explained away by science, she just wishes, over and over, he would See It. she also does towards him that thing, that child-like tendency of wanting him to protect, or cover for her (cf. in P2 when she asks him to heal at her place because she lost her powers). if burakh didn't have 2 kids already I think she would be a good surrogate daughter to him, but also I think she's too high-headed to be a daughter figure to him, maybe more a... rowdy cousin.
Idk if you've given this thought/touched on this before? But the three healers and crying? Do they? Are they ok doing it?
OH BOY HAVE I THOUGHT ABOUT IT! (taps username)
Clara: she does. she sooo does. nasty nasty sobs. snot and all that she wipes on her sleeves and with her mittens like a child. desperate wailing, christ-like-touch sobs. like the female mystics of old whose tears swept the floors of churches. also because. she do be a child and does not have quite the hang on her emotional regulation. she does it because she feels rejected, because she feels desperate when her powers leave her, because she is struck by what she feels is divine grace that her body cannot contain.
Burakh: he is pretty reserved as an adult, but he used to cry more freely as a child. it was never seen as A Bad Thing, it was more that his tears would feed the Earth and she would be thankful for it. he "hardened" as a teen and adult, first because he wanted to look Tough and Rough amongst his friend group, and later because going to war as a medic [potential canon if you choose the dialogue option] wiped him out of most potent emotions and now he's kinda numb. for the first few days of grieving he is also still numb, does not cry because he wants to appear strong and put-together to his Kin and his friends, but he eventually cracks and goes on a sobbing fit in front of people begging them to let him grieve (because they repeat that all Isidor do is feed the earth and that is a peaceful and beautiful thing and that he shouldn't be sad about it, but he is, he is).
Dankovsky: with the way I see him being raised, his father was Not A Fan of seeing him cry. he was a lil sensitive as a child and did, which his mom was always so caring about and was like "aww beebeek come here :(" but his dad really wanted him to Not do that. so he Stopped doing that. as an adult, even in the throes of the worst thing that has ever happened to him, he will not cry. he will keep a strained, pinched smile until his mouth gives out. he will break down in private but not cry. he will only cry when he gets into a relationship [regardless of its shape] with someone who Also could use a good cry and then they will crai together </3
bonus Rubin because technically a doctor: he will withstand everything like a rock and then one day explode and sob and snot and cry. also in someone's company when it's just the two of them bc he cannot stand being seen weak
How and when'd you meet Odette
I didn’t have my full memory when I came to Hell, so I guess I met her when me and my mother reunited. I thought she was my sister through birth, that I had just forgotten…
