It's about 2am, hair braided up for my gorgeous "braid out" tomorrow (fingers crossed lol) and I'm finally in bed after bae and I cooking/baking all day! 😊 The oven running nonstop even made the AC come on lol but I'm so glad I finally got my Christmas baking done. All I know is they better appreciate my ClariiCakezz!! ......even though I screwed up on the icing cuz I was drinking 😝 MERRY CHRISTMAS TUMBLR!!!!!🎅🏾🎁🌲
Halfway done my Christmas baking! Screw those prepackaged bakery goods, this is how you do Christmas gifts 😋 Featured: Double Chocolate Cake with Walnuts and Pecan Pumpkin Pie Bars (precut)
Cleaning and skinning a chicken is soooooooo disgusting! 😖 Bae tried to be slick and decided to take a nap which meant I was left with cleaning these Cornish hens 😑 Anyway if you're not a skin eater, it takes some force but it's pretty easy to peel off. Gotta rinse the hell off of these hens, inside and out. Chicken from the Amish market where they were raised free-ranged is way easier to clean off as oppose to store meat. You really don't know what you're getting from there forreal. Basic instructions: WASH HANDS. Rinse hens thoroughly. WASH YOUR DAMN HANDS AGAIN. Then you can season in this order - onion powder, garlic powder, Adobo, Sazón Goya, ground black pepper, Rosemary. Can't tell you how much of what, a skill you pick up through trial and error. Just don't leave any empty patches, try to coat evenly but only one side of the hen, and then take a whiff to see if your seasoning masterpiece smells right...if you over-seasoned it, you'll know then.. Cover with foil, don't have the foil touching the chicken. Cook at 400 for 2 hours. (Bae's doing this part when she wakes up, I'll take a picture then) Take out, baste with butter, remove foil, cook for another hour or until brown to your liking, slap some honey on it, put back in oven after turning oven off, let honey melt a little bit and then you're done! Also remember that raw chicken juices and whatever else that came off while rinsing can lead to salmonella and food poisoning if not taken care of immediately...so that means for y'all lazy butts you will need to wash and sanitize your sink and faucet handles... And for those who rinse off food while there are still dishes in the sink (let's be real now) please wash them already, damn. Don't nobody got time for getting sick cuz your lazy ass ain't wanna wash dishes the night before lol ...and throw those chicken guts outside in the dumpster because they will stink up your kitchen if left sitting your kitchen trash can. Unnecessary cooking lessons from me 😁 part 2 coming in a few hours...
