naruto old internet finds
I usually don't write anything on here. I just post photos and videos of my favorite actors and entertainers but this was something that was weighing on my mind tonight.
I have been using the internet since February 22nd, 1997. I have seen so many changes throughout the years.
See, back those days, there was no algorithms. If you had an interest in something or someone, you just looked them up and there'd be web sites for that interest.
I remember going to the public library to use the internet because I didn't own a computer at home. That was hell because back in those days, you only got a half hour to use the computer and you had to sign the sign up sheet and there was no high speed internet back then so it moved kind of slow. You couldn't really do much in a half an hour and if another person had the time slot after you, you had to get up and wait for another computer to be available to finish what you were doing. It was annoying, yes, but I just miss those early days of the internet before algorithms and all this nonsense started. I remember printing out the screenshots of Ted Raimi at the library and they were like 10 cents a piece. I still have them saved in the binder. Those were from 1998.
I used Yahoo as my main search engine. I used that a lot. I remember looking up actor Ted Raimi and Shane McMahon and few others back then and joining Yahoo Groups of people who had the similar interests that I had. I miss that.
I mentioned on an older post about this website called the Ted Raimi International Fan Club (TRIFC) website and I used to frequent there quite a bit. I used to go to WWF's website and use their chat room from time to time.
I remember making a web page on GeoCities for free back in the day and I also remember something called Web Ring, which was a series of websites that were linked to one person or one thing that people shared an interest in.
I miss those days and it sucks that they're gone. I get it that times have to change and you can't go back, you can only go forward but those were some good days back then. The best time on the internet was 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001.
Now, it's like I don't really fit in anywhere on the internet. I have a Facebook page with like 30+ "friends" that don't even talk to me so it's always like a ghost town there. The same thing goes for my Instagram account. Nobody really talks to me on there and nobody has a shared interest and anything that I like on both Instagram and Facebook.
I joined Tumblr thinking I could kind of relive those old days of Yahoo and Yahoo Groups but even this place is different and has the stupid algorithm thing. Like I said, there's really no place on internet or social media for me.
Anyway, it's just a little mini rant about how I miss those old days of the internet. I had a lot more people to communicate with back then and we had a shared interest in things like Shane McMahon, Kyle Chandler, or Ted Raimi or wrestling or just things that I was interested in.
You can only watch
When you go looking for Avatar parodies from the first era on YouTube because none of the Way Of Water and Fire And Ash ones so far hit the same, but Harry Partridge's "Hot Na'vi Sex" is missing.
They don't make gore/shock sites like they used to😔🥀
