And perhaps there’s no better American race car than the original Ford GT40. And this is not just any Ford GT, being just 1 of 5 roadsters ever built, and 1 of 2 that still survives. Crazily, this roadster actually participated at the 1965 24H of Le Mans. Since it’s racing glory days, it’s lived a busy, life racking up a number of awards and recognitions. And we have no doubt it will command a pretty penny at Monterey when it crosses the block. About 80% of you felt that bumpers were not required for classics. @dm.44 even went as far to say, 'I never liked the look of the 275 until I saw a one sans bumpers.' @george2003oliver added 'The E-type and MG B’s were all ruined by bumpers.' But it's not universally relevantl, as @richboyinc04 said, 'In cases like this Ferrari and a lot of other cars more than matter, yes no bumpers is the way to go. But in some cases I think a car needs a big flawless chrome bumpers or what not too make it looks just right. While down in Bradenton last week I spotted this 1953 Hudson Hornet in the grocery store parking lot. My mom use to drive one of these way back in the day. This car was absolutely stunning. Apparently the gentleman's family owned the Hudson dealership in Bradenton and this car is one of several he owns.
