This recipe is a simplified version of the traditional lasagna Bolognese. It has all the comforting flavors of the original dish with less work. Great for a cozy family dinner or having people over.
Ingredients: 9 lasagna noodles. 1 tablespoon olive oil. 1 onion, finely chopped. 2 garlic cloves, minced. 1 pound ground beef. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 24-ounce jar marinara sauce. 1 cup ricotta cheese. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Fresh basil leaves for garnish.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375F 190C. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in marinara sauce and let simmer for 5-10 minutes. Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by half of the meat sauce mixture. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of cheese on top. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
