Enjoy the classic tastes of an Animal-Style Burger with this tasty recipe. There is a special sauce, grilled onions, pickles, and melty American cheese on these burgers. Great for a BBQ in the backyard or dinner during the week!
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 hamburger buns. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 2 tbsp ketchup. 1 tbsp yellow mustard. 1/2 tsp white vinegar. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 1/4 cup dill pickle slices. 4 slices American cheese. 1/4 cup shredded lettuce. 1/4 cup vegetable oil. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Preheat a grill or griddle over medium-high heat. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Season with salt and pepper. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and white vinegar to make the special sauce. Place the burger patties on the grill or griddle and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of American cheese to each patty. While the burgers are cooking, split the hamburger buns and toast them lightly on the grill or griddle. To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of the special sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a cheese-covered patty, chopped onion, dill pickle slices, and shredded lettuce. Place the top half of the bun on the toppings to complete the burgers. Serve the Animal-Style Burgers hot and enjoy!
