For a tasty twist on a classic burger, try these smoky pork burgers with grilled sweet onions. The smoky paprika, BBQ sauce, and soft grilled onions in this burger make it a real treat for the mouth.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground pork. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup BBQ sauce. 1 tsp smoked paprika. 1/2 tsp garlic powder. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/4 tsp black pepper. 4 hamburger buns. 1 large sweet onion, sliced. 4 slices of cheese optional. Lettuce, tomato, and condiments for toppings.
Instructions: Warm up the grill over medium-high heat. Put BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Add the ground pork and mix it all together. Combine well. Cut the pork mixture into four equal parts and shape each one into a burger patty. For about 5 minutes on each side, or until they are soft and have grill marks, put the sweet onion slices on the grill. Put the pork burger patties on the grill while the onions are cooking. Cook for about four to five minutes on each side, or until they are done and the middle is no longer pink. If you want to melt the cheese, add a slice to each patty in the last minute of cooking. Put the hamburger buns on the grill and toast them for one to two minutes, until they get a little brown. Put a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun of each burger, then the cooked pork patty with or without cheese, grilled sweet onion slices, tomato slices, and your choice of toppings. Put the other half of the bun on top and serve hot.
