After Malcolm bit Clayton he went on to kill Clayton's mother. Clayton's father had returned home that evening from the military and ended up taking his own life once he saw what happened to his wife. Clayton wasn't found by the police so he was left to live by himself for a year before he was found and adopted by Jeremy Danvers. As he grew up he became an anthropology professor and the pack enforcer. He does what needs to be done for his pack.

I’m kind of obsessed with Clay’s ticking. Whenever he’s trying to control his emotions he does this thing where his fingers twitch or drum or shake, depending on the trigger. I’ve been watching for it in every scene he’s in and I 😭
