Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a far-fetched vision in the heads of science fiction enthusiasts.
In fact, the latest news is that an AI system has read through 100 initial coin offering (ICO) whitepapers and produced one on its own.
The project was reportedly led by Clay Space, a blockchain researcher and the founder of Blockspace Media, as CCN explains in a report on the subject. It is perhaps important to note that the AI system had no knowledge of cryptocurrency or ICO, and therefore it was presented with the chance to learn from other whitepapers on these topics.
However, you might be wondering what happened next? The AI wrote an ICO whitepaper that was quite satisfactory and much like the other ICO whitepapers.
The structure of the whitepaper was quite standard, starting with an introduction, followed by a problem and uses of the token, purchasing of ICO, use of funds and a team sub-sections.
Whereas described as simplistic, the structure of the whitepaper that was created by the AI system replicates the structure expected from such a whitepaper. It may be argued that the ICOs have become obvious and predictable with buzzwords like blockchain and cryptocurrency gaining traction in the space.
The experiment undertaken by Space showed that an AI system can write a whitepaper that complies with the general rules. Arguably, it is a good thing because it shows the space has established some general guidelines. Yet, on the other hand, this may signal predictability and lack of originality in many ICOs.
