Aastha has always been influenced by the richness of culture and crafts that India has. She graduated as a craft designer in ceramics from Indian Institute of Crafts and Design and the later went to Golden Bridge Pottery to enhance her skills in pottery. She believes that working in ceramic had endless possibilities and she hopes to keep exploring them. Tanmoy, Masters of Design with Specialization in Ceramic and Glass, is currently a guest lecturer at Department of Ceramics at Chitrakala Parishath. . Tanmoy brings in experience from various national and international workshops and residencies, that he has been a part off. . Tanmoy has been appreciated with Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation Award in 2018 for his work. . Tanmoy will be conducting Mold and Slip Casting workshop from 20th June. Molds are a simple way to create forms and make multiple copies of them with little effort. As the construction process is simplified, it allows the artist the freedom to creatively experiment on the form further. . We take pleasure in introducing our Guest trainer for the month of June Ms Sushma Anand- @_artmosphere . Ms. Sushma, a graduate in Fine Arts from Stella Maris, Chennai and Tutored by Ray Meeker, Deborah Smith and Amrita Dhawan at Golden Bridge Pottery, tells us about her journey. ... "Hand built, wheel thrown, terracotta, stoneware, porcelain, electric, gas, wood, soda… the list is endless and the experience and experiments in each is an ongoing magical sojourn. A journey that cannot be expressed in words but can only be experienced through touch and feel. The past years I have been experimenting with transferring those drawings on to clay from painting to sgraffito, but lost out on the finer details. My experimentation with printing techniques on clay allowed me to transfer my drawings and add new dimensions to my work. It also opened up the world of colour to me. My inspiration is generally drawn from the rich and vibrant culture that is around me, be it the form, imagery or patterns. I currently work from my studio “Artmospher” in Ernakulam, Kerala."
