Did my first spell/ritual in a while, with full intent and thought. It was honestly one of my more involved workings but I’m so happy about how it went and I want to share it, since a lot of it was on the fly~
INGREDIENTS
-Messy room/room in general
-Small bowl or cauldron - I used an old cut crystal bowl I’ve had for a bit
-Salt - I used sea salt, but any salt will work!
-Cleansing herbs - These can be whatever you have on hand. I happened to be working out of my parents’ kitchen, since most of my altar and components are packed at my apartment, so I used some rosemary and lemon peel.
-Water - I ideally would’ve done this with a more magickal water, such as florida water or moon water, but I just used the tap water I cleansed
-A fan - I have a ceiling fan in my room, but anything from a stationary fan to paper folded into a hand fan will do fine.
THE SPELL
-The best time to do this is when it’s sunny, so you can get all the warm, bright, fire energy of the sun into the space, but any time works!
-Before you start anything else, open up all the windows and doors you can in the room to let all the energy flow and get some air moving. This is good both for the cleansing spell and the actual cleaning we’re going to do.
-Cleanse your tools and herbs. I let them sit and absorb some sunlight on my windowsill until I used each component, too, just for that extra energy.
-Clean your room. It’s the most time consuming part, I admit, but it’s the biggest part of the spell, too. Get rid of all that old stagnant energy as you clean, and throw out things you don’t need to keep. Don’t hold back when you tidy up!
-Put salt into the bowl, sprinkling it in pinch by pinch. I did five pinches, one for each of the four elements and one for magick and intent.
-Do the same for the rest of the herbs, sprinkling them in one at a time.
-Mix together clockwise until all the herbs are mixed with the salt.
-Pour in your water, allowing it to fill the bowl about 1/4-1/2way.
-Stir it together counterclockwise, thinking of your intent to bring good energy in and push the bad energy out.
-Standing in the center of the room, take a few deep breaths. Let yourself feel the energy of the room ground yourself in the space, and allow the energy from the herbs and salt to mingle in the water.
-Starting at the middle, dip your fingers in the bowl and sprinkle a little bit of your herb/salt/water mixture in the center of the room, the four corners, and the ‘ports of entry’ - any doors, windows, and other openings.
-I also took extra time to sprinkle more where I felt more negative or stagnant energy clinging on, as well as to mark the ‘ports of entry’ with a sigil for cleansing and good energy.
-When you’ve finished cleansing the room, stand back in the middle and do one more sprinkle there.
-Using the fan, go around the room and ‘blow out’ the negative energy that may be left. Because I had an electric fan on, I had it running the whole time, but I fanned the energy away here with my arms and gave it an extra ‘good riddance’ out the windows.
-Re-ground yourself, close any circles, etc. I did my own grounding and let myself breathe in the space for a bit, enjoying the new energy.
