Clean white - 1st shoot

we had to shoot on a clean white background, however there where a few times where the background lights didn’t shoot leaving the background unlight

Euan Robertson is a photographer based in Glasgow

SOMHAIRLE MACDONALD   ( pronounced Sorley )

Somhairle is another Glasgow based photographer, he has been working as a professional photographer since 2006

he has said that his approach to photography is very much the same as his other creative work, in that It must be stylish and must convey a message.

clean white background research images, by Platon, this image is very interesting due to the position of the subject and the hand gesture of the model, his hand is placed in the foreground close to the lens to connect with the observer. The model is dominant and makes the viewer feel small and connected to the image. There seems to be a looseness to the image as the model keeps his hand in his pocket but has a feel of dominance from this. The image appears to be quite soft onto the model, a soft box on the left hand side of the image on his face has most likely been used with a reflector to bounce light back on to the other side of the models face, or another light has been used. The light seems to be positioned high up pointing down towards his face as there is shadows below his eyes and his chin. The focal point of the image seems to be his face, it’s a serious face which is lead by the hand in the foreground, although the hand takes up a lot of space in the image it is not in focus however the face and eyes are in complete focus. The eyes connect with the viewer and his facial expression and body language suggests seriousness and dominance over the viewer of the image.
