A Round of Golf Claps!
Congrats to Kylee Norman for her fundraising efforts for the local Boys & Girls Club! in August, she held an event at her home for the benefit of the Boys & Girls Club that raised over $3,000. The band New Groove played some rockin’ tunes to make the event even more lively. Kylee was also a part of the winning team in the annual golf outing, which raised $10,000! Way to go, Kylee!
A Stepping Stone in the Right Direction
CLH excitedly teamed up with eleven:eleven again this year for the firm’s third annual after-hours “Give Back” night with a scarf party. CLH donated its free “hostess” infinity scarves and additional personal care items for the women and children at the “Stepping Stone Shelter for Women.” Stepping Stone Shelter provides women and minor children who are victims of domestic violence with a range of critical services, including 24/7 crisis lines & intervention, temporary shelter, clothing & food, transitional housing, counseling, and support groups.
A Brew-by-Brew Account
The 3rd annual Portage Brewfest, which directly benefits the Portage Township YMCA, was held in mid-October this year. With a wide range of local and specialty brews available, brewfest-goers enjoyed an afternoon of sampling. The Brewfest also had several local food trucks and vendors on site, highlighting the unique specialities available in the region. CLH contributed to the event in several ways, including through a silent auction basket featuring an outdoor fire pit set, on which several staff members promptly outbid each other!
2nd Annual Homeward Bound Epic Shopping Cart Parade Raises Funds to Benefit the Homeless
The Epic Shopping Cart Parade, held in September this year, aims to raise awareness about homelessness in the community and also raises funds to benefit organizations whose missions are to provide shelter, educate, and care for those who are homeless. Sharon Staback was quoted in the Michigan City News Dispatch, saying, “We just want to help people get back on their feet.” The CLH team proudly raised the most money of any participants in the parade and was also the winner of “Best Cart”!
