K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

From fandoms I know we share: Li Tianchen, Maruki, uhhhhh did KHR have character development or was it all hype moments and aura i can't recall. I liked shouichi's but it was 90% off screen and you gotta fill in the blank.

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

It's hard to pick one for P5... I think about Lightpost all the time so. Akechi and Maruki and Akechi and post-ending Shido. But I also literally never saw anyone else write it.

(My favorite friendship in canon was obviously akira & morgana no contest. I spent a lot of my final days taking my not-cat to the jazz club to make up for the fact we never get to go on friend dates alone)

Uhhhhh KHR was not a fandom for platonic relationship cause every platonic fic is a bit shippy and ship fics aren't actually strictly romantic. I liked byakuran & yuni in canon but there's not much to expand on in fanfics. I also liked byakuran & yamamoto but i also shipped it... byakuran & tsuna... mmm... i liked looking into the dynamic but I wasn't too into the fandom takes. OH YAMAMOTO AND SQUALO FANWORKS WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING but it also striaght up just cross into the shipping territory. I like 10051 platonically too, of course.

I just answered 2 for A Firm Hand

I'M SURPRISED TO GET A FIC ABOUT ALWAYS THE CHILD. Cause... I have more notes on that AU and just felt like the White part needed to be written... but it never felt like a complete fic! Anyway... It was not a hard fic to write cause... I wrote it with the intention of "I have voices in my head and I need to get it out" while never intending to truly complete it asfs;lafkj;asdf... I think the only challenge was like... I wanted to portray White's change in as little words as possible... Really I just rushed through that fic cause I felt like that whole AU was too much to tackle...

Sex therapy 9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic? No. That came out from beginning to end under 48 hours. I just sat down and wrote and keep writing. I don't even think I changed much during editing. I think I kinda, like, discuss the flow of the fic with Kaz and Isa on discord before I started writing and then just dived right in.

Fav ships are lenofiga, asacai, and lenofigafau. I also really love the northfam dynamic. Altho the ship I have written the most fics for is probably faufiga lol...

I think you've mentioned that you mostly read the mhyk stories without visuals or music. And honestly that's kind of a shame because the way the voice actors do the "hohoho" laugh of the twins has me CONVINCED that snow and white picked that up from snow owls around them. It is my number one headcanon.

Also like, snow owls have yellow eyes as well

I think i've only ever seen fanart of Snow as an adult and White as a child and never the other way around which is such a shame.

I mean yeah i get these artists are trying to convey the tragedy of white dying while snow is still alive in a "ooooh he stopped growing up" kind of way but it doesn't really make that much sense to me because they both stopped growing up a long time ago??? Like, wizards do not age like humans. But like, i get it, it's sad.

However there's also potential for Snow as a child and White as an adult. Snow childishly not accepting the death of his brother and demanding he comes back. Snow forcing death onto White and then life as well. White becoming the doll of Snow for Snow's comfort, same way that the adult Father and Mother doll have been for both of the twins. Do you get me. We can squeeze more angst out of these babies.

But I think the main thing is for the few instances in canon where they didn't match, Snow's the one who took up the adult form more often. It's just one of those character things.

I think the way that I read it is, when Snow wanted to head out on his own, he longed for change. (That's why I actually always read their adult form as feeling younger lol...) Their child form isn't about unable to grow up, it's about stillness... Like... Preserving themselves in a glass coffin. It's something eternal. At least that's the vibe I get from it. And like, ultimately both of them chose their child forms cause they're unable to change.

I think personality wise the way I read it, Snow is more... Like... Exploratory? Like... He has chosen to never change (much more than white, who is now more open to it after their role reversal post-revival) but there's still some leftover longing for possibilities, which is why I think he might prefer the adult form a bit more.

That is all to say their adult form genuinely looks younger to me don't ask why.

Is "like" your catchphrase or something? Not a single posts of yours doesn't have it. Not trying to be mean, just curious!

It's not a catchphrase. It's a habit I got into when typing to sound more casual. (People use to say I sound like a robot.) I don't know if it really works or just make my tone sound odd lol... But at this point it's ingrained into part of my online speech tics.

I don't actually say it out loud as much irl, I don't think.

I think the tone I intend to convey with it is, everytime I say "like" imagine me scratching my head. I sometime vary it with "um" but "like" is meant to sound more blase and "um" is meant to sound more hesitant.

Do you have an opinion on the ethical modell of compassion by Schopenhauer? Out of mere curiosity,,,

So to preface, I don't actually know too much about moral philosophy so this is me talking out of my ass after reading it up on wikipedia. But like... insofar as the compassionate basis of morality goes... It seems a bit narrow.

If we're basing it on the below...

If an action has as its motive an egoistic aim, it cannot have any moral worth. Only insofar as an action has sprung from compassion does it have moral value; and every action resulting from any other motives has none.

So... real life motivations are complicated. If a person decides to donate money to a cause they sincerely care about, but decide the amount to donate based on their available tax deduction (common thing to do), does the egoistic aim negate the sincere desire to help?

If it does, then this model render too many actions amoral and doesn't differentiate enough between amoral and immoral. Like, I just think there should be something to differentiate donating money for tax deduction vs. killing someone.

He also defines compassion as the prevention/elimination of suffering. Which also seems a bit narrow.

And, okay... I specifically grew up Christian, so I had to think about this a lot. If one is to assume hell is real, any act to prevent a loved one from going to hell would be a compassionate act. Any suffering caused in the process is negligible compared to eternal damnation. It's a bit of an edge case, and I don't think the kantian model address it any better.

Anyway I think the Kantian model seem to make more sense to me.
