I like it so far. I’m only 76 pages in. I am so happy to get back to the world of The Infernal Devices. I love this series so much more than The Mortal Instruments. I have been reading very slow this month so I don’t know if I will end up finishing City of Heavenly Fire after this, like I want to. I just want to wrap both series up this month.
Most of what I read focused on finding and defeating Benedict Lightwood in his demon worm shape. Now both Lightwoods will stay at the Institute. And Cecily is also there. I am already wondering if Gabriel and Cecily end up together because Alec has these vivid blue eyes like Will and Cecily do, so is he descended from Gabriel’s line of children?
And I spend a lot of time wondering about the children because I know that a Carstairs appears in Heavenly Fire, but is she a descendant of Tessa and Jem or Jem and someone else? I still don’t know who Tessa will end up with. I want it to be Jem, though. Well, most of the time I want it to be Jem, but then I know Will understands her in a way he doesn’t. ANYWAY, I am excited for the book.
I also hate that I will have to go through all the other books before I reach Chain of Gold, but I am reading them in publication order, so I must do that.
