What? They picked on Snape who was a wizard supremacist who supported muggle borns being tortured in school. And even then we only really see James do that and we know for a fact that Snape went full out trying to bully them, even trying to out Remus as a werewolf.
Peter isn’t glorified in the fandom. He turned legit evil because he’s a snivelling worm.
Sirius came from a bad family and even got kicked out but wanted to do what he could to not be bad like his family. He may have been a jerk at times but had he not been framed for killing Peter he would have immediately taken care of Harry after James and Lily died.
Remus is hands down sympathetic because he was a werewolf. Had it not been for James and Sirius he probably wouldn’t have had friends. They all became Animagus so he’d have company when he transformed. This is the guy Snape was going after to be petty.
The only one who was close to a bully was James, and we only see him act mean when he was 15. We know he became a better person to date Lily because we’re legit told that was what happened. And even then the only person we see him be mean to was Snape who was into dark magic in school and already planned to join the Death Eaters and serve Voldemort. He invented a spell that painfully killed someone as a student. He’s not exactly a victim here. And the spell James used to hang him upside down WAS INVENTED BY SNAPE. So Snape must have used it on someone and James used it after that.
I don’t get what you’re saying about the Marauders.
