Finished Clomid...

Five days of clomid was not as terrible as the first round of clomid I did. But this time around was rougher than the second round.

Clomid Day 2 was when I definitely felt the side effects of the medicine. I felt sick, had a headache majority of the day, and I woke up feeling nauseous. I was cancelled at work on Clomid Day 4, which was a blessing in disguise because I felt sick and tired, it was good to sleep in...

Today was Clomid Day 5 and I am feeling hot, I’m sweating, the lack of estrogen is giving me hot flashes. I have a headache. And my ovaries REALLY feel like they’re ready to burst. 😫

Thank goodness it’s the last day because I am done, I don’t want to do anymore Clomid.

Heading to bed now, fortunately got a six hour short shift tomorrow.

I received GREAT news from my Reproductive Endocrinologist today:

It’s all daunting; especially after receiving these messages from the last month:

I went for an entire month worried and depressed after being told I had low ovarian reserve. And that I was going to likely go through early menopause... to... “Oh never mind, that was a lab error and your ovarian reserve is actually the highest it’s ever been.”

The entire reason I had an IUI done immediately was due to the (false) lab test of my AMH tanking in 6 months. Of course I get these results a week after going through with the clomid. 💊

But it’s happening one way or another and we are still hoping this IUI has a pregnancy outcome. 😌

Can’t wait to find out how my ovaries responded to the clomid tomorrow. 🙏

Clomid Day 2 💊

CD-4// Today was the WORST day out of all 5 days on the pill.

I work 10 hour shifts at the GI Lab as a nurse. I stand primarily for most of the day and I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to take my medicine on time if I was assisting in cases. I got lucky because my manager sent me to complete some Ethics & Compliance Training, so I got to sit and eat some crackers before taking the pill.

I felt fine until I became the BIGGEST EMOTIONAL WRECK... I had a coworker tell me something, and I just started crying. This wasn’t any type of crying... this was inconsolable- could not stop or control myself from tears. I went to the restroom, and cried. I tried to take a deep breath. That didn’t work. I ended up crying in my car for 40 minutes of my lunch hour. I don’t think I’ve ever felt quite like this before. 😔

With the crying, of course came a giant headache. When I got home, I felt warm like I was getting sick. It felt like beginning stages of the flu. All I wanted to do was get in bed and lay down.

Clomid Day 1 💊

CD-3// So this is how starting a “cycle” works:

Cycle Day 1: Call office and inform them that you have started your period and you’d like to start the IUI cycle. Cycle Day 2: Labs ordered were drawn Cycle Day 3: Came in to the office for initial medication start and ultrasound.

Ultrasound showed: 5 follicles on the right ovary, and 4 follicles on the left ovary. (Normal range for my age is 11 to 15.)

My reproductive endocrinologist had me take the first clomid dose today, she suggested I take it asap since I was spotting the day before CD1. Usually people take this medication at night to avoid the side effects.

Took first clomid pill at 9:15 AM. I immediately started feeling my heart race. My fitbit was ranging 90-100 BPM, at rest sitting down. My heart rate is usually around 65-80 BPM. I felt a headache coming on, like I needed to lay down.

Survived the first day.

Since I've been away from my symptoms narration of the #Clomid diaries 😂 I should be around 7-8dpo and I've been cramping... I know clomid gives pregnancy like symptoms so... yup, that's it... cramping as if AF is coming to town but I have a week until I test, or she shows up... I'm at CD20... Breast hurts more around than on the nipples... this morning I woke up grumpy and saw CM that I've not noticed before (but it could be because I'm more aware)... hubbs believes that's our month...
