@corrieweek Prompt: Painting Armor
somewhat specific but heavily indulgent clone memes bc I do not feel like drawing it all lol
Starting a quest to find all the dick jokes (and other inappropriate jokes*) in Clone Wars (wish me luck)
Ah, yes, 'size is not everything' joke - very obvious, but such a classic.
Is this a dick joke? Debatable. Anyway 8 out of 10 😆
Ambush - season 1, episode 1
*This could also turn into me taking stuff out of context because anything is inappropriate if your brain is fucked up enough and oohh let me tell you my brain is something bad.
Roll in the Credits
Fox, waiting at the GAR landing platform: Rys, watching him: What's the commander doing all the way over there? That's the GAR boys's landing zone... Stone: Hm? Oh. The 104th, 112th and 501st got leave at the same time. Rys: ...And? Stone: Fox is collecting bet credits. Rys: ... Wolffe, walking out of the newly-landed LAAT while wearing a colorful fursuit: I'm wearing the stupid thing...Happy now? Fox, keeping a level voice: I am content, yes. Hand over the credits. Wolffe, grumbling and giving him a substantial amount of credits: Pain in the shebs... -stomps off towards 79's- Rys, flabbergasted: Was that...? Stone: Keep watching. It gets better. Cody, wearing rainbow punk rock attire with matching mohawk and piercings: You're the devil. Fox, still containing his smile: Don't make bets you can't win. Cody, flipping him off after handing over his own sum of credits before following Wolffe: Bastard... Rys: What the fuck...? Stone: We're missing one. Rys: Oh no, what did he make Rex wear? Rex, in a bunny girl outfit complete with big floppy ears, tail, fishnets and heels: Fox, snorting: Had a nice breezy trip, Rex'ika? Rex: I hate you with every fiber of my being. Fox: Love you too. Credits now. Rex, weeping as he hands over his losses: Why do I never learn? -continues to do the walk of shame towards 79's, catching up with Wolffe and Cody- Rys, absolutely shocked: Stone: And this is why no one should EVER bet against Fox. Rys: Noted.
🎶 Clone Playlists: The Corries 🎶
Decided to start sharing some of my Spotify playlists with y'all! (Guests can hopefully see the list of songs, even if only other people on Spotify can play them--so hopefully this can at least give some inspiration to everybody.) Please note that these are WIPs, and G-rated suggestions are always welcome (I'm always up to discover new music)! 😊

This is inspired by the Coruscant Guard as they appear in my happy-ending fanwork AU, "Gently Twinkling Stars." Long story short, this is an unrepentant, absolutely-buckets-of-fluff, no-order-66, clones-get-the-long-happy-lives-they-deserve universe. The Corries are one of the most complex clone families in my stories (which unfortunately mostly still just live in my head, but I do hope to get them into text eventually)--post-war, Commander Fox and his closest brothers pool their pensions and buy a small apartment complex to share with each other, which Fox names "Fox's Den" because it's in his name. (The others give him no end of griping about this.)
Because I ship Riyo Chuchi with Cody in this universe, I made up an OC Mikkian caf barista, Nira, for Fox to marry instead, and they eventually have two biological kids. Jek, meanwhile, marries a different OC, Dacey, who happens to be the widowed mother of tiny Jek Porkins from the Original Trilogy! (I started thinking about their matching names, and the idea of "Big Jek" becoming "Little Jek's" new dad was just too cute to pass up.) Stone adopts a cute little cadet named Sticky, and Rys adopts a baby Ewok. Yes you read that right. Hound still has his beloved Grizzer, and Thorn and Thire remain devoted twins, though very different in appearance--Thorn is one of the most athletic clones and stays quite trim, besides just being one of the unusual blonds, while Thire is a cheerful couch-potato and by far the chubbiest of the Corries post-war. (The others and especially the kids all enjoy using him as a pillow, and he is as smug as a pleased Cheshire cat about this--good luck pulling a child or a vod away from him when they're enjoying unlimited cuddles, snacks, and holovision privileges!)
Some of these songs are about the Guard's wartime days, others about the shamelessly cute antics they get into post-war. This will therefore almost certainly be one of the least-angsty, most-sugary TCW-inspired playlists floating around. But, it still does have some poignant, serious, and action-oriented songs here and there. Anyways, hope you enjoy!
Some standout songs:
"I'm Coming After You" by Owl City--since the Corries are policemen of a sort, this song was way too fitting for Fox teasing Nira or Jek teasing Dacey. 😆 I can imagine either of them selecting it from the jukebox at 79's, and dancing with their sweetie (and mimicking the siren sounds in the song until she laughingly slaps him)!
"Team Chaotix" from the Sonic Heroes soundtrack--probably annoyingly "kiddie" when you actually look at the lyrics, but good grief, this like most Sonic songs is actually a banger in tune. And it's about detectives fighting crime. C'MON, that is so "Corrie-coded!"
"Empire of Angels" by Thomas Bergersen--a dramatic instrumental piece for a wide-eyed shiny's arrival on Coruscant, after being assigned to the Guard, never knowing anything but the halls of Kamino before this. I imagine it would be quite overwhelming, especially the gleaming Federal District.
"9 to 5" by Dolly Parton--on a much more humorous note, the Corries' lifestyle probably come the closest of any clones' to matching this song. Imagining Fox and his lieutenants doing a little dance routine to this along a Coruscant sidewalk on their way to the Senate makes me giggle my socks off. 😆 (And yes, "That man" [Palpatine] is most certainly "out to get them" [and everyone else], but he won't succeed in this AU, don't worry!…)
"Parade of the Ewoks" and "Sugar Baby Love" are both for Chicory, Rys' cute little Ewok daughter. 🥰 (She is admittedly a gift I'm giving my younger self--I've said it before and I'll say it again, clones are my favorite Star Wars thing now and Ewoks were my favorite Star Wars thing when I was little, so having a clone adopt an Ewok is a dream come true for me!)
"Superman" by Rachel Platten--a sweet song about letting the strong one be weak for a while. "Put your armor on the ground tonight" is such a touching line for a clone especially! To me, this is a quiet moment between Fox and Nira (or possibly Jek and Dacey).
"Who You Are" by Lunatica--I included this on more than one clone playlist, but I think it's especially fitting for the Corries, who--rather like the Dominos, but for different reasons--often feel like "underdogs," people who especially have to fight for their standing and self-esteem, what with the more unkind senators who probably look down on them a lot.
Practically every Parry Gripp song on this list--like I may have mentioned in another post, I hope people don't find these annoying, as I know they're extremely goofy songs written for kids. But, they just always inspire such cute scenes in my head of the clones playing with their families post-war--and in the Corries' cases, good grief, there were just SO many fitting ones! Most Parry Gripp songs are either about food or cute little animals, and between Coruscant being the main place in Star Wars where there'd be unlimited street food, Thire being a bit of a glutton in my imagination ("Giant Hamburger" is definitely for him), and Hound meanwhile loving on Grizzer ("Sitting on a Beanbag with a Puppy" and "Oh Potato Dog" are definitely for him), there was a bit of an overload here. There's even "Mucho Cafeino" and "Coffee Breath" for the Corries' (and especially Fox's) infamous addiction to caf! 😆
(I hope it's okay to tag @aknightreaderr and @wispsofwhimsy here--I know my AU is different than both of yours, but I know you both love the Corries and especially Fox to bits, so I figured there might be one or two songs here that either of you might enjoy! 😊)
There's not much to look at here sir. We all share the same face.
-small corrie hcs, more under cut-
-developed a tendency to use a lot of filler words when talking casually, way more than any other group of clones. Lots of "like/so/okay/umm/yknow/uhh" that they don't notice they're saying. also uses more slang that isn't related to the military that gets spread throughout the GAR sometimes.
-most tattoos they get are in less visible spots, but are actually colorful/detailed. some exceptions to this, but depends on rank/skills/duties (i.e., Stone: highly skilled + command class + usually off-world anyway = can risk the tattoo). like to show them off to non-Guard clones a lot, and are more likely to get names tattooed on them.

He sees Jek’s bald head reflect the light for a moment, like a victory beam flashing directly into Rys’ eyes from the smoke.
No, he realizes. This isn’t smoke. Or dust.
