OB Challenge - Day 22

What is one element of the sci-fi genre that you wish Orphan Black would incorporate?

I'm not an expert on sci-fi, nor I'm the biggest fan. Actually one of the things I love the most about OB is that it doesn't look like sci-fi at all. "We take the fiction out of science-fiction" as Dylan said at the Cloneversation.

But then I remember Beth Childs and the euroclones and I think we need all the help we can get from sci-fi to get them back.

Cloneversation: At Da Club

*club music pumps in background*

Bartender: What can I get for you?

Felix: I'll have a whisky

Cosima: White wine please

Alison: Martini please. Dry, two olives.

Random gross guy: Twins, nice. How about you two ladies join me at my table.

Alison: Well I never . . .

Felix: Excuse you but they're with me. *extends out hand to Cosima and Alison* Let's dance. I'm getting bored of the rabble lurking at the bar.

Cosima: *waves arms in majestic swirly motions*

Alison: *bobs head awkwardly while shuffling feet* What kind of music is this? It's, umm, interesting. I'm not sure I know how to dance to it.

Felix: *sees attractive stranger and starts dancing with him*

Cosima: *waves hands around some more* Well this is song is electro house. It's become increasingly popular in clubs in the last 5 or so years. Just move with the beat.

Alison: *mumbling and leading Cos back to the bar* I might need a few more drinks for that.

Alison: *to bartender* Double martini please, dry, and another white wine.

Cosima: I used to go to raves a lot in high school. *sips wine* This takes me back.

Alison: Raves? Oh I wasn't allowed to go to those types of places. My mother would've killed me. Donnie's cousin went to one and almost got her drink roofied. *downs martini and asks for another* I was the co-captain of the dance committee, but we mostly just stuck to top 40 radio at dances.

Cosima: I don't think I've listened to top 40 radio since middle school.

Alison: *tosses back another drink* Show me to do that arm-wavy thing you do. I think it's time I loosened up and learned some new moves.

Cosima: Well you just kind of let your arms get relax and move kind of like you're in water. *starts dancing slowly*

*Cosima and Alison continue lesson*

Felix: Well look who is finally getting with the times. *begins dancing with his sisters*

Random gross guy from before: *begins grinding behind Alison* Mind if I cut in?

Alison: *turns around and slaps him* You take your hands off of me. I am a married woman. *waves ring in his face*

Random gross dude: Woah, I'm just being friendly. Sorry lady. *to Cosima* What do you say you follow me home and we'll call it even? *winks*

Alison: *lunges forward* You disgusting--

Cosima: *grabbing Alison and moving toward the exit* Ok there, let's go. He's not worth the effort.

Felix: *as Cosima and Alison leave* Excuse me mate. I'm sorry about that. She can be a bit defensive when she drinks. *pulls dude in for a hug then knees him in the groin*

*Exits dramatically as guy writhes in pain on the dance floor*
