with as many times as maria has run away , it takes a lot for her to be like ... loyal for someone . essentially , she gets soft spots for people quickly because she wishes to see them get good and improve in whatever they care about , will murder for people in abusive situations , etc. but she doesnt get like ... she doesnt get attached easily because she figures she’s probably gonna get up and leave wherever she is . the clocktower in the hunter’s nightmare is the only place she rests because ... she’s dead and all she wanted to do after death is rest . she refers to herself as a corpse and when her consciousness finally dies she’s able to stop moving and it’s what she’s wanted for years . but during her years alive , its tough to get her to be involved with someone due to the knowledge that she’s gonna get up and disappear again .
