One of my coworkers says really insensitive things all the time out of pure ignorance. But she listens well when she receives soft spoken explanations. And she learns. She's always learning. Another says really insensitive things and then gets huffy if opposed in any way. This is the distinction between open-mindedness and and close-mindedness: willingness to consider new information.
It's better to be an open minded idiot than a close minded genius.
Has anyone thought about the irony of being too Open-minded?
