Closemindedness
People who aren't worth the time it takes to type out a coherent response (which would largely be lost on them anyway): 1) fat shamers 2) mommy shamers 3) Drumpf supporters 4) Anyone who can't accept that things change and progress over time (including how language evolves over time.) 5) mansplainers 6) racists, mysogynists, homophobes, xenophobes, and bigots of all varieties. 7) childless people who think they know how to parent your children better than you 8) people who aren't dissuaded/persuaded by facts or who don't know what a fact is. 9) people who have an opinion about your life who aren't willing to pay your bills. 10) people who insist that their country is the best 11) people who insist that their religion is the only true religion 12) people without empathy or compassion 13) people who, instead of posting their opinions on their own wall, insist on telling you how wrong you are on your wall because they like to argue or are in need of attention. 14) people who think they know what parenting 24/7/365 is because they have a pet or an elderly relative who does not live with them. 15) know-it-alls of any kind (including but not limited to people who must always be right and people who always have to have the last word.) 16) men who think they have any right to tell women what they can and cannot do with their own bodies (in regards to clothing, breast feeding, birth control, etc.) 17) slut shamers 18) people who don't understand the difference between intolerance in general terms versus intolerance of hateful and close-minded people. 19) "Christians" who worship Jesus on Sunday and want to screw the least of these (and anyone else who isn't unborn or rich) every other day of the week. 20) people who tell you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps while simultaneously stepping on them. 21) people who, when presented with facts, cry that they are being persecuted. So basically anyone who is a judgmental asshole.
Trying to explain something to a close minded person is ridiculously frustrating. I literally just can't even... #closeminded #closemindedpeople #closemindedness #freeyourmind #learnsomethingnew
"Feminism is ridiculous. You can't have it both ways, either you're a man or a woman. You can't expect men to buy things for you then expect to be treated equally." This is why I can never talk to my parents about my beliefs. When I mentioned equal pay for equal work, it was as if I was talking about something shameful. I love my parents, but they wonder why I am reluctant to talk to them about things; this is why. Feminism and marriage equality are both good things, progress toward equality. I simply don't understand anyone objecting to equality of all things. Unfortunately I have to listen to it all the time, and, honestly, it's a major reason why I'm ready to move out next year. Goodbye, negative home life - hello, open minded college
I made a comment to my family yesterday about how I was gonna watch the new English dub of SNK today with my friends, and I proceeded to get grief about liking anime. My aunt goes "I don't like anime." I asked her if she'd ever seen any, and she didn't respond. This is the same ain't who refuses to watch anything British "cause the accents annoy me." And then my cousin goes "YOU like anime?" Like it's some crime, when he's the one obsessed with Magic the Gathering. I also got grief for liking to watch anime in both Japanese and English, like how dare I like something that's originally in another language. Ugh, so annoyed.
I have a lot of respect for vegans and raw-foodies, I couldn't maintain a limited diet like that. But, if you look at a beautifully prepared dish and say it looks gross because it contains something you don't eat: FUCK YOU AND YOUR CLOSEMINDEDNESS. Appreciate edible art. You have lost my respect.
People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart. (NLT) -Proverbs 21:2 Is it possible you could be wrong? Do you take this attitude when you enter situations of conflict? Your insistence on righteousness does not make disputes any easier. It even makes them worse. When you encounter difficult situations, take a look at your actions (not your intentions) with an open mind that perhaps you could be in the wrong. Download this app to get your daily devotions:
