Love and Female Clothing
As a frequent shopper of both men’s and women’s clothing, I noticed that a disproportionate amount of women’s shirts had the word “love” printed on them, whereas there were basically no such shirts on the men’s side.
Why is that a thing? Don’t men love people just as much as women do?
What makes it worse is that clothing is almost a subconscious way of branding things. For instance, you can tell that someone is a hipster, or a rich kid, or a goth by the types of clothes they wear. So, by only having female clothing with the word love on it, it’s subconsciously telling us that only women should obsess about love, whereas men shouldn’t care so much about it, and that to me is really silly.
