JUSTIFICATION: "Cloud reads as incredibly trans masc to me. His entire character arc is about trying to live up to the masculine ideals set by other people, first trying to be a "hero" like Sephiroth and then literally coopting his dead friend Zack's entire personality. It just reads to me as a very trans thing to do -- he spends most of the game emulating these two other dudes that were, to him, the epitome of what it meant to be the kind of guy he wanted to be. And then at the end, he finally learns how to be himself, which, again, feels very trans.
