could you show a picture of your homeboard? sorry if you already did it and we missed it lol
its okay! we've updated it since then
it's a lot of scrolling (we don't have a tablet yet...) but it's color coded / organised in a way where we know scroll to specific groups
[ID: four screenshots of the home board of our AAC. it's colored purple, dark blue, red, and green, with a grey column to the far right. the first two rows are symbols and phrases, and the third links to other folders, and quick-fire buttons. each button has symbol art from AACIL, or drawn by us. in order, they read:
(column 1 & 2): is, not, yes, no, okay, stop, hello, bye, maybe, i don't know, please, thank you, sorry, you're welcome
excuse me, i, that, you, there, be, can, like, do, want, get, need, have, will
think, could, understand, don't understand, right, wrong, good, bad, go, to, wait, from, again, with
ready, i'm not done, need to leave, yes / no questions, need time, didn't say that, need food, can't describe, if you speak over me ..., don't have phrase
(column 3): phrases, actions, pronouns, descriptors, things, verbs, spacebar
punctuation, quick pronouns, FANBOYS, AWUBIS, quick suffixes, quick amounts, question words
statement, because, of, advocacy, hilfe & missbrauch, numbers, script
/end ID]
my favorite button is "i" :0 cause we added "we" and "self" as alt options and it's helping us talk how we normally do by switching pronouns constantly :)
we'll try to answer questions if you have any :0. we had to make up an entire row cause we wanted a "question / statement" button that only one of our guys uses
