nah. she used to (we weren’t even allowed to say “shut up” or “that sucks” in front of her) but my brother and I slowly wore her down. also my brother is much much worse than me and he’s the one who still lives at home so most of what I say is really innocent in comparison.

she cusses in front of us, too, although she’ll go through phases where she tries to break the habit and will say stuff like “oh my stars” or “that sucks eggs” before looping back around to actual profanity. these are much funnier than the phases wherein she’s suddenly Very Upset and Disappointed In Us any time anyone says a bad word around her. we usually ignore those until they go away.

100% true story: I have been deliberately avoiding putting dragons in this thing because I feel like it would be a cop-out, plus I would get distracted and spend the rest of the thing just writing about dragons rather than, you know, plotlines or character development. So it turns out dragons are not whales but only because dragons are to me as whales are to Melville. fuck.

(also, my reply to your other reply is delayed, because first I have to go home and photoshop a monocole onto a picture of a bioluminescent jellyfish.)

I still maintain that my cryptic blogging is better than the thing itself so...I'll just leave you to guess. :D Also: when I finish. I have an ending I can't wait to write. But I have not forgotten them.

Well it depends on the type of call, different ones have different meanings, but most of them boil down to "courtship" or "aggression." Or, if it's a chick, "feed me."

But also to instill a sense of unbearable longing for that which you cannot obtain without giving up everything you have.
