Why was the god taking care of the marble? What is the maturation process like for a god?
The god was not taking care of the object, the god was taking care of a fragment of the Origin. The god deactivated the fragment, rendering it inert and shaping it into an object which closely resembles, but is not, a marble.
A maturing god will continue to grow in the Void until it has reached a point where it understands what it wants from its universe. It will then leave the Void and use its fragment of the Origin to build a universe, which it will harbor in the concave of its body.
clowderofcloudies replied to your post “So I found more bones. Anyway, anyone out here like.. vulture culture...”
Generally speaking the best/fastest way to whiten bones is to soak them in hydrogen peroxide (the 3% mixture sold in plastic bottles at the store) for a few hours/days. If for any reason you can't/don't wanna do that put them in a sunny place outside. It takes a long time but they will bleach, however they are also likely to become weathered and potentially start breaking down, so take care if you do that. They will also need to be rotated to bleach evenly
I should have made it more clear in the post! But I’ve already done two 12+ hour sessions in Peroxide, so a good 24 hours of soaking. But the stains have BARELY changed. if anything it’s almost like some of the stains have gotten worse, going from brown to black? Does it help to know that they have been sitting in a mucky swampy spot for god knows how long? Should i just keep soaking them for longer? cause jesus have i gone through peroxide like a monster. Shoprite is gonna start asking me if Im okay
What are your thoughts on camels?
Well, they certainly exist. I can’t say I’ve had much to do with them. Related camelids like the alpaca yes, but not camels themselves.
They are well adapted to desert environments, and running amok in the top half of Australia. They’d be a useful source of hypoallergenic meat for pets if they weren’t making themselves toxic by grazing our desert plants.
I also recommend googling a video of what camels look like when they’re mating. It’s a little bit... different.
What are the top places you would travel to if time and money weren't an issue?
The UK (though maybe not right this moment), particularly to see Scotland and Northern Ireland, which is where most of my ancestry comes from.
Somewhere I could see wild polar bears (Canada?)
New Zealand
A multi-stop natural history museum tour to see all the dinosaurs.
Star trek or star wars?
Honestly, I haven’t watched a huge amount of Star Trek, and certainly not in any chronological order.
I’m actually sticking away from it, which is easy to do because I’ve managed to avoid a lot of popular culture, because right now my dear friend @spiderkiss is making a podcast about Babylon 5, in which we discuss each episode. Given that I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about the series, It’s find to discuss things from both a technical storywriting point of view, and from a veterinary/scientific/medical point of view.
So that’s the SciFi I’m saving myself for at the moment.
If you could domesticate any species past or present, which would you choose and what do you think would be the most noticeable behavioral and morphological changes to it after domestication?
You mean other than a stegosaurus?
See, I’m not sure that I would. Domestication is a big deal, we’re phenotypically and genotypically altering a species, or at least a subset of one. The species will gain numbers, but lose genetic diversity and then become dependent on humans. It’s a morally interesting concept.
Historically we’ve domesticated species for a purpose. Whether that was for food, fibre, working power, hunting, vermin control, pleasure or even, in the case of foxes, simple curiosity.
I’m struggling to think of a purpose that we need a new species of animals to fill in the modern world. I’m not really sure what I think about deliberately selecting for certain color morphs in non-domestic species kept as pets either.
Sure, domesticating a new species might be cool, but is being cool enough to justify what you’re going to do to a species?
do you prefer tea or coffee?
Truthfully… neither.
I guess I’m really just a big kid and never developed the taste for either. I can drink tea, I just don’t enjoy it. I don’t like coffee either, and since it makes my partner’s migraine worse we just don’t have it in the house.
I stick to my hot chocolates. Sometimes with caramel.
(Made the proper way, with hot milk, not water)
I just use ‘coffee’ as a generic term for ‘hot beverage of choice’.
