Clown Ape (OC) doodles bc I havent revisited them in a hot minute and theyre fun.

i was really curious about your clown ape anatomy, are the muscles rainbow? does that also mean the blood is rainbow?

I was imagining their insides as amorphous, colorful and changing. Like their faces. I havent figured out how to illustrate it how I see it

I want to revisit the clown apes tho and maybe expand on the cousin species Ive been workshopping. Yknow what ill just explain them here. Thank you for the question btw!

Theres two similar... subspecies? to the clown apes. (They all fit under the name “mimics”) 

1. Leery-Mimric (Leary’s Eighth-Circuit Mimic). These skinny wasting away coyote things visit ppl out in the desert succumbing to heat stroke (or tripping on ayuhuasca..) and possess them. They cant speak but they hop in the human bodies and and just act like general folkloric tricksters. Theyre are created when lightning hits a coyote. :c

2. Harliphants. (extinct before scientific naming but widely accepted as a species of Eighth-Circuit Mimic) 

Medieval era beast whose calls induce mass hysteria dancing trances. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_mania They have a large elephant body and flat primate faces and are creepy as f. Their humanoid faces are expressive but commonly rest in a fearful wide-eyed grimace. Harliphants have been long extinct and there is no photo evidence of them, but they are  documented in medieval writing, art, and folklore pre 1500.

@rhavencroft​ : The leery-mimric "sideways face" is awesome. It kind of reminds me of the sprites in early 3D games that turn to face you no matter what angle you look at them from which is really cool. Also the harliphant's face is so disconcerting and I love it lol

OOo spooky I like that! The Leery-mimric’s mask just locked on always staring before you even notice it. 

I decided that its coyote body stays behind in the desert while the mask is possessing a human. So it always has that tether to the desert.
