How did they film the Winter scene if it wasn't in the winter? Everything was fake? The outside was fake?

The winter scenes were filmed, as the rest of the movie, in May and June.
They used special effects to make it look like it was snowing. This video by the company who did the vfx shows how they did it. Enjoy!

Elio’s “why” to Oliver after their kisses at Monet’s Berm where Oliver tells him they should go is so softspoken... you can tell he didn’t want to leave, he wanted to savor their special moments. Then later on after their first time where they go swimming and Oliver asks if Elio will hold it against him Elio replies “no” again in the most soft spoken way it’s heartbreaking ugh damn chalamet is too talented

ok here's a random question, which version should i get of the "call me by your name" book? the one from 2008 or the re-released with timothée and armie on the cover? do you think there's a difference in the writing in the books also?
this is actually quite an intersting question so I hope you are okay with the fact that I will puplicly answer this.The version that I got is the movie tie-in one with Armie and Timothée on the cover. Now for me it was just an aesthetic desicion, I simply found that cover more appealing and really liked the movie poster so why not. I guess you’ll have to make your own decision there. As far as the writing and story telling of the novel is concerned, it is correct that sometimes the tie-in version differ to the ‘original’ sources in that they are closer aligned with the movie. However, in the case of Call Me By Your Name I don’t think there is much difference there. While I cannot be totally sure because I only own that one copy I think I can confidently say that it is one and the same story. Also based on the way André Aciman has been talking about how the book was “his version” and that he gave Luca complete freedom to adapt it in a way he thought best. I think that makes it very clear that these two elements (while beautifully adapted in terms of fidelity I might add) are they own and stand alones. Hopefully my little ramble could help you a little bit. Let me know what you decide :) Peace and Love ;)

Instead of waiting for asks in my inbox, I’ve decided to do one question/a day of my old CMBYN ask game. I’ve already answered many of the questions back then but my answers may have changed since and I feel like doing it again anyway. Maybe it will motivate me to write that Armie/Timmy ask I’ve been willing to write since forever 😅

Day 1 — Which one came to you first? The book or the movie? Would you have preferred the other way?
Movie first, book second and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I don’t know how I would have reacted to Elio if Timmy hadn’t made me fall in love with the character first. Being this much inside of someone’s unfiltered mind is one of the strength of the book but it’s also very tricky if you don’t click with the said character. And I think I would have spent a good part of the book being annoyed af by Elio if it wasn’t for Timmy and Timmy’s work. So I’m grateful for him about that. That why, since then, I’ve always given priority to Timmy’s vision. If he’s working on something based on the book, I’ve promised myself to always watch his vision of the character before reading the book (if I want to). I was also happy to discover written proofs of what Armie’s work had shown on screen. I’m still a little bit pissed by the fact that every line of Oliver actually voicing his feelings and his love for Elio has been cut off the movie. To read that everything you can feel by Armie’s physical acting has solid proofs in the book was quite lovely.
