The Will to Live - Chandler Massey Interview from the New York Post
Q: Will has been dead for two years. Is he coming back Walking Dead style?
CM: No. I guess I can say he’s not a zombie. Soaps have their ways, you know? Will certainly wouldn’t be the first person to come back from the dead. They have a medically plausible explanation. Q: What can fans expect from Will’s return?
CM: The most obvious thing will be Sonny, his longtime love, is involved with someone else now. It throws a pretty sizable wrench into that romance. Q: Did you realize how big the Will and Sonny love story would be for gay fans?
CM: No, I really had no idea. It wasn’t until after I started hearing from people who watched the show, and getting letters and reading tweets and talking to people at events that I realized how important the story was. Q: Why did the show bring you back instead of Guy Wilson?
CM: Guy did a phenomenal job as Will. If I had to speculate, I would say playing Will originally when the coming-out story was happening and all that just worked in my favor. You did re-shoots of some of Wilson’s scenes including one where Will was murdered. How’d that go?
CM: The scenes were very intense and required a lot of energy but I don’t think it’s weird. When I first started working on the show, I was a recast. There’s a kid named Dylan Patton who played Will before me and there was a bunch of Wills before him. So that’s just kind of how it goes, you know?

Many television actors can’t say they won an award during a four-year career, much less a Daytime Emmy. Georgia native Chandler Massey, however, can say he won three.
Chandler talks his third Daytime Emmy win as well as his future plans.
