❝ i heard you all the way upstairs. ❞
Genji looked up from the mess that was all around him towards the monk standing just inside his room. He was staying in one of the smaller rooms of the monastery but he did not mind it much. He did not have any possessions left except for his sword and the body he came here with. The cyborg had not heard Mondatta open the door or enter which wasn’t surprising if one considered what was happening. Genji was a complete mess; sitting slouched on the ground with pieces of his armor laying all around him. Most of them had been carefully detatched from his body, others he had ripped from himself in rage, throwing them against the walls in an inhuman shout. His cybernetic arm was laying useless next to his own leg. He hadn’t noticed the wetness on his face before. No mask hiding the ugly strains of tears down his cheeks and flowing over the black synthetic part of his jaw. His human hand was clutching at the seam where his chest met metal and tubing, scratching at the skin and scars. The tubing in his lower arm had been ripped out partially in a first outburst and seeing his flesh bleed slightly had prompted Genji to frantically search for places that he was still human. Where did he stop and where did the machine begin? His hand shaking against his chest he still stares at Mondatta, blinking away the tears to try and focus.“I did not mean to disturb you, Master Mondatta. I-…I just…I couldn’t…”
It’s late when he returns to their hotel where they’ve been staying. Quiet, he tries his best not to draw attention as he slips into the room. He’d been out, hired for a job that didn’t go as smoothly as he’d hoped. It was the cause for his bruised cheek, cut lip where he’d been attacked unexpectedly after he thought he was done. They paid with their lives however, so a mere scrape was the least of his concerns. Standing in the bathroom, he only hoped his husband was asleep, giving him chance to clean away the blood that stained his skin and clothes. || @cnlightncd liked for a starter.

MEME. (open!)
“I’m not ‘pretending’ anything,” he said, in the middle of tearing off a strip of bandage with his teeth. “I don’t care. It’s not my job to care about ‘saving the world’, not anymore.” Winding the bandage carefully around his wounded forearm, Jack kept his eyes on that rather than the vague shape of Mondatta he knew was just several feet away from him. “What I do care about,” he added, now pinning the bandage in place, “is that I have unfinished business with Talon, and it’s personal. I don’t give a shit about the ‘greater good’ anymore. Maybe if I did, I wouldn’t be holed up here with you - maybe I’d have answered the damn recall.” He paused, then added, bitterly, “For all the good they’ll do.”
